Hello, Ladies and Gents,
I just discovered your web site (quite by accident) and am really excited that I did. I've been yearning for greater team orientation and battle planning from BF 2. I can't wait to participate with all of you.
My question: I'm running an older system- Pent. 4 3.2 Ghz- 1 GB RAM- NVIDIA GeForce 7800GS... can my system run PR efficiently?
I'm still in the stone-age, but I am looking to upgrade shortly. Also, do i need to download the previous versions of PR for the system to function? Or, can I just download the latest version?
Thanks. for your time and consideration and I look forward to catching you in my cross-hairs
See you on the field,
BlackwaterHAWAII

HOO-HAA! Boy, did you come to the right place! I wouldn't be surprised if someone doesn't try to recruit you ASAP! Teamplay is what Project Reality is all about. Welcome to PR and the Forums! I hope your experience here is ever richer than any you've experienced before! Best wishes on getting your new system together!
Sincerely,
Roland

I used to have a system almost identical to the stats you list keep everything on medium and you should be fine. an extra gig of ram would definitely help though.

Blackwater i pretty much had the same specs as you except i had the nvidia geforce 6800gt & 1.5gb ram.
It LAGGED so bad on low settings that i went ahead and upgraded just so i could play!
so my advice - Definately go for an upgrade its well worth it

Thanks, Sketzoh...I figure I'll come out of the stoneage with something hot (ie an i7 975), so ill be good for a couple of upgrades. Now, it's just convincing the wife how vital to national security this new computer would be

An i7 725? Unless you want to spend 600 dollars on the CPU alone, I'd go with a regular quad core CPU.
For PR, you should have a dual core cpu, at least 2 gigs of RAM, and a graphics card equivalent to the 8800 gt. (that is of course to play the game on high settings.)

I upgraded to a 1.7ghz celeron dual core, 1 Gb Ram, Asus EAH3450 512mb gfx card. (Not the best setup but what i could afford)
I can now comfortable run pr on mid settings so not bad for around £100 so make sure the wife knows its critical to national security as this game rocks beyond belief!

I cant stress enough how the i975 is a waste when i920 D0's clock to 4Ghz on air.

I'll try my best, SketzoH, but you remember how the "Bay of Pigs" turned out

Thank-you all for your input to the i7. I'll look into the dual cores. I guess the i7 was more a case of "mines bigger than yours". Especially since I have small hands and feet
