Can't install

When I go to install the patch, it tells me I need to have 0.86 installed. I have been playing on it so I have it, but I patched up from 0.85. How do I over come this?

You either do not have 0.86 installed, or you are installing to the wrong spot despite the installer saying exactly where to install it

Obviously modify the path to where you have installed it to...

What file do you have /mods/pr/readme/version/

It says its empty. (The version folder)

The folder shouldn't be empty, something has screwed up your side. I'd strongly recommend reinstalling PR, however, you can just make a file called patch.086 in that version folder (right click, new text document, rename the file to that, don't forget to change the extension from .txt to .086).

The path is all correct, is this just a bug because of the fact we patched up from 0.85 or something else?

Also, that text document thingy didn't work

i had .85 full installer, then patched to .86 and now patched to .87 (after patching BF2 to 1.5) and it worked like a charm (OS: XP 64)
so i tend to say something on your end screwed up

I have the same problem too. The text file idea didn't work, and somehow something got corrupted, preventing me from reinstalling, so I have to do the hard and painful way of redownloading the core. This also occurred to me when I tried to patch 0.85 to 0.86.
But to avoid this in the future, what is possibly being, quote, "screwed up" on my side? I haven't changed anything to Battlefield 2's directory, let alone the pr folder in mods.

maybe the installer is corrupted - you should use a download manager (or torrent client) and resumable download locations for large files
