My game worked fine yesterday, now today, i installed 1.5, then installed .87, now whenever i go to launch the game, the splash screen pops up, then the screen goes blank, and then just goes backto the desktop, i have change compatibility mode, tried running it in windowed mode, tried changing my video.con file to a different resolution and even re-installed my drivers for my video card but nothing is working, and neither the PR.exe nor the BF2.exe work, both give the same outcome.

creative xfi fatality
8g of fatality ram
2x 300g raptors in raid 0

Try deleting the video.con file (in both your profile and in the default profile)?

seemed to have gotten closer, this time i saw the BF2 mouse come up before it crashed. lol

Try deleting your entire My Documents/Battlefield 2 folder
Start BF2, retrieve your profile
Play PR, configure settings etc...

If this is Windows 7 64 bit, make sure the Battlefield 2 folder is at C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games, and make sure that in regedit, you have your Battlefield 2 keys at

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2

check the windows event logger ("Events") for possible causes

Yep, same problem; though I can still play BF2v.

When I load PR, it cuts to black screen, then a the cursor pops up (same screen as what happens when you alt tab and come back in which crashes the game with 1.5 patch)

check "working directory" in shortcut properties
by default it looks like

"e:\Program Files (x86)\Battlefield 2\mods\pr"

try deleting the end of it, so it looks like

"e:\Program Files (x86)\Battlefield 2"

i had crashes and it worked for me, but then i decided to reinstall everything, and it works with default now

Ahm... I used the memory fix thing for bf2.exe before the patch, could it be the problem? cuz after I repaired BF2, put back the old BF2.exe and patched to 1.5 I Could play BF2, though I still cant play PR, when I run it, it shows a black screen with a mouse...

PR isn't optimized for vista or win7 yet.

Give it more time. It will be worth the wait.
Trust me I've been playing since v0.2

I have Windows XP and I have the same problem. I can play the new BF2 v1.5 but when I try to play PR(v 87) it loads to a black screen with just the cursor. I waited for like 20 minutes thinking that maybe it has to load something more in this new patch and whatnot but to no avail. So..what's the problem?

same here on XP just hangs
