Ok here is the problem:

I upgraded to 1.5 and .87, when i click the Project Reality 0874 icon on my desktop it waites about 10 seconds then goes to a black screen with a mouse pointer after about 30 seconds of that i get the BSS splash screen and then it goes to login screen. I put in password and log get the little PR spinning mouse pointer and it goes to the main menu were you can deploy do training go to options ext however where there would normally be a main screen with stuff happeing like little videos of people playing PR there is nothing but black and i cant click on anything... I hear music but nothing happens, when i try and alt tab out i get noting when i alt ctrl del out task manager shows bf2 not woring and i have to end task...

any ideas?

I am having the same problem and I have no idea what's it about.
When I run pr I get a black screen and a mouse pointer and that's it.
Sometimes I manage to get to login screen but when I log in , I can't do anything else.
It's like it's stuck.
Does anyone know what's this about?

I know this thread is for Vista users only but it seems Win XP and Vista are having this problem and also I didn't find any XP thread about it.
A friend of my is using XP too and is having the same problem.

Specs:
Windows XP SP 3
Inter Core Duo 2.83 Ghz
2 GB of DDR 2 RAM
512 MB Nvidia GeFroce 9600 GT

I have the same problem. Already uninstalled PR and reinstalled it but without succes. vBF2 is still working normally.

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9550

Same problem on windows 7 64bit

i have same problem, but mine WAS working, then i played bf2 and when i try to play PR now i get same thing you get. I'm gonna uninstall and try without playing bf2 at all let you know how it goes

is there anything that i explained that is dif for any of you or is it exactly the same?

Yep for me it's the same... I only deleted the intro movies so I have to wait about 10 secs to get to the login menu but after that it's exactly the way you described.

I've looked up the forums a bit and the news server that displays stuff after u log in is down and it will remain like it until it's up.
They say that's the problem.

And how long it's supposed to be down?!

I am having the EXACT same problem, i am running XP. Not good!
