when i click on the PR shortcut all of them it says PR.exe has stopped working. any help?

does regular bf2 work fine?

oh sorry erm i dunno my specs i just know i have vista ^^ or is there a way i can find out easier than ripping open my PC, also regular bf2 works, new patch has solved my old PB problem which is good but PR dosnt seem to like it. i installed the patch and the PR patch and just got a pop up on the desktop saying PR.exe has stopped working i had a shortcut that was running on BF2.exe and just took me to the menu and said change it so i changed it to PR.exe and nothing happened. so i had dinner, havnt tried it again. maybe it will work on a full stomach if not, anymore help?

shortcut should have something like this
"C:\Program Files\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"

i'd like to know if you have the same problem when you start the normal battlefield 2 (NOT the mod)

could be that your file(s) is corrupted, uninstalling and reinstalling bf2 and pr might help there

with history we mean things like has it worked before or did you just install it?

well ive had PR for a while then one day i went to play it and it started crashing on maploading, i posted on here but got no reply which was a shame. it has never done this before and i thought maybe the new patch might fix it but ill try a reinstall

reinstalled BF2 same problem again, any other surgestions?

Im having the same problem. Ive reinstalled bf2 and installed pr 3times.

spec:
vista ultimate
4gb ram
3.0ghz duo
gtx 280

When I click on my PR icon on desktop it gives me "PR.EXE has stopped working". Doesnt even load PR. I also made new PR shortcut but its still the same.

This is my PR icon info:
Target: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"
Start in: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr"
Compatibility is under XP SP2
UAC is disable on my vista

My installation order:
*BF2
*BF2 patch 1.41(Ihave to install this because if i 1.50 gives me " youve already installed the patch")
*BF2 1.50 patch
*PR 8.74 core setup size: 1.77gb
*PR 8.74 levels setup size: 1.41gb
note: I also tried installing the patch 8.74 since I have the recent patch before but I have the same results.
I did a manual install also and installed the whole game but I get the same results also.

Any help will be appreciated

Ok i downloaded Vista service pack one, this stopped the PR.exe sign, also installing .net updated, but i still crash on map loads, any help??

go back to XP and forget VISTA!

This I think is to do with using an unpatched BF2.exe that has the 2GB limit on it. Search this forum section or look in one of the stickies at the top, the info on what to do is all there.

I have the same problem as the OP. I just can't start the game. PR worked absolutely fine before I installed bf 1.5 and pr 0.87.
I'm using Vista and I have 2GB of memory.

As far as I know, it's useless to use the largeaddressaware flag with BF2.exe if you are running 1.5, because BF2 1.5 includes the ability to use more than 2 GB of RAM.

it still crashs on map loads for me, Lan servers work but internet it has a strop about.

any help?

Compatibility mode to xp and run as admin not set in desktop shortcut on Vista PCs
Right click shortcut
choose 'properties' from bottom of list
Click on the Compatibility 'tab'(along the top of the window)
Check 'run as admin' box, select WINDOWS XP(service pack 2

Still CTD?
Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001
