I've found a way to make tripflares change their smoke directions. Instead of shooting up, as it is normally, if you look up while prone and place down your trip flare, it will shoot in the direction you were looking while prone.

For example:

I put these flares on top of a vehicle, then tripped them to create a mini-smoke screen that lasted a few seconds

did tripflares had all that smoke?
i hvnt played .87 yet so...

In the first image, there's 4 tripflares shooting in different directions
In the second image, there's 3 tripflares in one spot, making a thicker smoke than normal

but wait... did they add that smoke on .87 or was it always there (and I never noticed?)
anyways this is something I might start using now...

The smoke for the tripflares has always been there.
