I click it and it asks me for permission to open the file, I hit ok and it gives me the hourglass cursor for a second but it never actually runs. Ive kept the computer on for over an hour to see it it comes up but no joy. I also downloaded 2 different versions of the file, from different mirrors and both have the same problem. Tried restarting and everything.

32 bit. I don't see why this is having a problem honestly; I mean its just an installer. All my other installers work fine, what makes this one so special?

Something to note though, previous battlefield 2 patches took a long time to start up. Like probably 10-15 minutes. Kinda weird.

Yeah that's common, it happens to me with BF2 1.41...although it was more like one minute, not 10. Well, the only thing I can think of is to update Installshield. You can download it here for 10.5: http://support.installshield.com/kb/fil ... te1050.exe

You might also try updating it too 11 as well: http://support.installshield.com/kb/fil ... te1100.exe

If it still won't work, go run disk cleanup and check "Temporary Files."

Try running the patch from a command prompt, that might generate some kind of meaningful error.

I have the same problem but no errors pop up it just wont open.

I also have the same specs.

Where did you download it from? I'm running into the same problem. I've downloaded it, it asks me to confirm I want to let in run, I run it as admin, but the installer never actually starts. Running Vista 32bit.

ok, i had this problem just restart your computer open the patch and wait i have 4gb ram 64bit 2.9 duel core and it took about 10 min to open.

i got AMD64 3.2G Raptor HDD and 4G and it also take up to 8-9 min, its normal on vista.

Got this problem too. I have Windows 7 64. after i installed 1.41, i tested it the game worked,( cus it didn't wokr earlier) and it did. I try to start patch 1.50, click yes to start the installer, and then nothing... Been waiting for hours, and nothing.

Please help!

If you didn't download the Torrent,
try downloading with a Torrent client. The built in error correction will make sure your don't get a corrupted download.
