How does the PR Community feel about this:

Our Australian servers run a 15 seconds critically wounded time and 0 attrition.
A member of our community has also just posted a fix (hack) on how to get Kill messages back into the game.

Personally, I'm against them both. Having played with a 15second critical time has totally changed the feel of the game. Its so close back to vBF2 its not funny, the only changes being accurate weapons. Noone cares for their life, noone shows any sembelance of teamwork (except for the old school PRMMers). I'm trying to petition to have the changes reverted but am being met with very little cooperation.
Discuss.

Well, linking to the "hack" definitely isn't gonna help your cause. I'd probably take that down, just so it doesn't spread around here.
As for the spawn time, I agree with you fully.

Unfortunately .. there is little we can do to control some aspects of this. The same issues are there in vBF2.
We do want server admins to have some flexibility, and it's actually impossible to prevent admins from changing certain values.
It's unfortunate that in some markets, there is not a large enough player population to have a choice of servers... and you can land on one to your liking.
Fixing that is our focus!

can you 2x check next time you go on for us please. If it aint, and they like to do small "hacks" like this they are probaly doing other hacks as well.

actually this propblem is inherited from vBF2... MD5 and/or punkbuster does not check this stuff

Dunno .. should ask Fritz. I agree it's an issue. But I think vBF2 ignores it, so not sure if PR can force it. PunkBuste
d might have more options.

I'm sorry I posted the link but I at least wanted a DEV to check it out.
I've had the post removed now by official means so thats one step in the right direction.
Its a sad state of affairs when stuff like that starts happening.

Doesnt that just put a boot up the *** of everyone invloved in PRM? They shouldnt have done that. It takes the fun out of the mod, and i belive it is a disgrace to hear those words.

I agree, I think I'm playing on the same servers as you S.O.P. and the 0 attrition (SP?) is actually a bad thing. The spawns are too short on this particular Australian server!

Don't understand this at all. Why have a PRMM server, then put in loads of hacks to make it like crappy vanilla? Why not just have a vanilla server???

Its the only populated server in Aus. Gamearena #21 (its in my user title).
Like I said before, I've had the offending post to the PRMM hacks removed, have also spoken to a Captain of the offender's clan. I have petitioned the server to be returned to normal settings, just waiting on the work order to go through I believe. They may bring it back at 20-25 though.
Since the offending post is removed, I'll link you to the thread again. Its the main PRMM thread in Australia, only one is needed.

Its been a WIP. I keep changing the Thread title and first post with tidbits of information. Page 7 is where the post was removed and our counter arguments. Last post is by Binstar, the admin I have been speaking with.
Edit: I just raged the guy in IRC and then spoke with him over TS. I'm not sure what he will do, but I explained why it would give one an advantage and asked him not to do it. He said he may mod it to do other things like points etc. Can't stop the kids I suppose.
