You cannot lock on to more than one target at a time due to engine limitations.

lol i was looking at recent commented threads and there was this one here. When I read the title I immediately thought of HAWX.
And to my surprise...

ANYWAYS, HAWX is set in DA FUTCHA! (future), therefore weapons are more modern, just like the ERS.

Probably, like SolidKnight said, is hardcoded, AND unrealistic =D my bad! Good luck there m8!

P.S. HAWX multiplayer sucks w/out a anti-cheater... :-( :gloomy:

It's not unrealistic. Lot's of weapon systems can fire at multiple targets. It's just that they didn't design the targeting systems in BF2 to be able to lock on to more than one object at a time. Hell there's only three different types of locks in the game and two of them are essentially the same thing.

Yea, not unrealistic at all, someone needs a reality check :p (Sorry for the really, really horrible pun BTW).

But even moreso than simply targetting multiple vehicles, I wish BF2 didn't have this retarded 2 heat/laze signature thing hardcoded. I mean, improved AA differentiation between IR and radar seekers, as well as a whole lot of other things would all be posible if it weren't for that :?

Yes, just like the AGM-65 Maverick on PR's A-10. In fact you don't even need to make a new missile just take one of the Maverick variants BF2 already has.

You have to do two things. First you have to change the launcher for the bombs of the F35 and F18 then you have to tell it to use the right projectile template. Look on BF2Editor forums for how.
