MEC SMG kit.

Ok This is a MEC only suggestion so it kinda doesn't fall inlibe with the other two threads on the subject.

Is it possible to make a LIMITED SMG class for the SMG as an alternate to the LMG? (right click from the menu), As we know the MEC has a sever handycap in CQC against the US and GB due to the hard hitting 7.62 NATO round that cause the G3 And HK to dance like the roof is on fire.

I am not asking for a new limited kit (well sort of) but an alternate for the LMG kit that acts as a asymmetrical balance to the M-16/L-85 that would be half as common as the LMG due to needing to be near a crate. It might also curb the use of the crewman kit as the 1337 CQC fighter.

P.s the kit would be set like a regular LMG but with a SMG with 8-10 mags

P.s.s The MEC is a "make believe" faction (like peter pan but with tanks) so the PR team is given a little wiggle room with the kits unlike most other main factions so that is why I say for them only.

Your reasoning is good, and could bring a nice taste of variation.

Though I assume you mean that if a squad has a LMG they can't request a SMG as well?

Though I think the MEC LMG works great in CQC itself anyway.

Yes LMG or SMG but not both....unless the medic where to get it by request

And the point is to make people stop using the crewmen as SMG kit and instead pick the SMG kit (Hopefully the MP5 with 3rnd burst)

i agree with this suggestion... especially if the MEC are getting the MG3. it would be nice to have the variation and maybe this might indicate that the MEC are using a different doctrine than other armies like the GB, US and chinese army. if you make the Crewman MP5 semi-burst and this kit's MP5 semi-auto it will have preference. (or maybe give this kit a MP5 with semi-burst-auto selections)

now, this kit lacks a fourth slot item. (instead of the deployed MG) maybe if we give him some trip flares or a grappling hook. or maybe some coloured nades or frags.

Frags would sound logical as it'd be a CQB kit. Though you might as well give the Rifleman Specialist the MP5 and limit it to one per squad, he'd be CQB-ish then.

SMG's for MEC kinda have been suggested already though; but I still think it'd be nice to have a bit less symmetry and make the MEC more unique.

i support this as well (even though i would prefer the MEC having a HK33 in 1-2 Kits instead of a SMG) but yeah its a quite old idea

Or even flashbangs. But im sure thats pretty unusual for armies. Ive been thinking about this for myself, though not as mec only. I do think it would be nice with more blitzkrieg friendly kits, though my guess is that youll never actually see it in real armies.

It be better if the SMG Could be chosen in place of a G3, for the iron sight riflemen kit.

we don't want the SMG's using up the cap limit of the LMG's, that just ridiculous

I'd like the 'rifleman specialist' kit to just have the SMG instead of an ironsight rifle and call it a specialist..

I dont agree with this as the MEC can easily out class any army in PR with their G3s at long range. Also there are alot of people who can use them in CQB and outclass the 5.56 kits.

G3 irons and SAW both outclass other rifles in CQB.

The idea for the LMG/medic replacement is to make the kits very limited so not everyone uses them. and yes the G-3 can perform well at long-range but so can the M-16

G3 rapes in CQC once you get it down right.

The SMG class has been suggested here and again...it's nice in principal, but I don't see it happening.

Now, it would be nice if we could get that good old HK-53 model back...it was a sweet weapon.

imo this just sounds like people are trying to get the special forces class back.

In a round about way, yeah. SMG's and their ilk are rare in the hands of the regular infantry, so it carries a "leet" factor with some people.

SMG's...the katana of guns.

I don't think i like the idea of smgs. While realistic they are somewhat of a noob weapon that will be the cause of much frustration. :P

I wouldn't mind it in but the iron g3's I find are godlike compared to other iron sight weapons. I wouldn't want it to replace all of those. But for say, rifle specialist they would be great. Extending into this, it would make the rifle specialist an assault/1337 kit. ;)

I really can't think of any kits currently ingame that could recieve it. Normally I would be against such an idea, but the MEC does have quite the disadvantage in cqc.

Which also reminds me that a mec vs insurgency map would be AWESOME.

I think to be using the MP5 in a regaurlar infantary army would just be un realsitic (but fun!).

TRUTH.

I actually find the Saiga/M1014 to be effective even with the breaching slugs in cqb. I also dont find the differences in assault rifles to be that much different, not nearly as different as assaults vs smgs or the AK74U.
