[?] Can you set a ref pic as your ground texture for static placement?

title is pretty explanatory.

I'm trying to recreate a real world locale, and having the refs on the ground would help me with statics, fields and roads. So if there is a way (and I'm sure i've seen screenshots with it done...) I'd love to know it...or the location of the tut :)

Many thanks

Oh noes, Rudd trying to mod, we are all doomed :D

... seriously though, it sounds good that you want to put some of all that knowledge, that you seem to have soaked up, to some good use.

@ your question; I'm pretty sure you can yea, but not exactly sure how. I'm sure Rhino or someone else will be in here soon enough though.

Ye this is how I map since its much easier to plan out the map on a image then work directly ontop of that image. If your working on a r/l location and google maps images also can really help.

For Muttrah at the time all I had available was a road map, which then I drew out all my road locations and other things in photoshop which you can see here in this really WIP image of muttrah :D

Since then I use this method much more to plan out main areas of the map much more toughly :)
