Ever since i installed the 1.5 patch i can run PR and BFP2 without the disc, i havent tryed it with vanilla yet. Anyone else got this?

Thats true mate they added it with the patch. No more CD.

This have to be the first time that is actually true regarding a BF2 patch.

NO WAY!?>!?!? Sweet, my CD drives are absolute **** and wont open 99% of the time, meaning BF2 has permanently occupied one of my two drives for PR since like 5 years ago...

Now I can finally take it out and have two other games ready and waiting.

Could it be that people are happy with something that EA have done with one of their BF2 patches?

No mess up, a lot of companies add the no CD requirement to their last patch after the publishers give them the ok.

Surprised at people who don't read the release notes for something they will install on their computer.

Ya i noticed this last week. I looked at the CD on top of my case while i was playing PR:
"Wait...something is wrong here."

lol thanks for clearing that up i did look through the notes when i downloaded but i obviously didnt pick it up

Doesn't matter....BF2 has been stuck in my PC for years now

The only release notes I read on patches are for major mod updates (to look at new toys, deviation changes etc). Regular game patches get installed because they are needed to continue playing online, so even if I didn't like something I would still install it if I wanted to play the game.

thought i played too much PR and my hard drive rememberd the disk haha

Lost my real CD long ago anyway. Been using a "Mini Image" mounted with damon tools for a very long time now. But now I don't even have to worry about that.

lol, i read baout it the day iw as installing the patch, i cant believe how many people have actually thought this was a bug.

Senior year of High School I found PR. Im now a senior in college so I guess after this year itll be 5... so more like 4.5 or something

Still really glad I can now free up a physical drive... never messed with virtual drives
