[?] Carrier Launched Jets

So I was thinking about how jets need a longer runway then a carrier to launch and had an idea.
What if you put a say, invisible wall around the front of the jet with a control on the side of the carrier that lowered it, very fast.
Have the static as something which doesn't cause damage when the jet is interacting with it.
Have the jet throttle up and go full throttle, have a person on the deck which triggers the "wall" to fall and the jet takes off.
This is something I've seen done on kashan where they drive the jet up the side of the hanger and go full thrust and they take off almost vertical.
Would the same logic work here only its not vertical but something is blocking the jet until it achieves full thrust and then is lowered?
I've heard talk of these implosions too, would they be effective at "catching" a jet?
