[?] How Do I....

Hi there,

I started this thread to find out the answer to the following questions:

A) I have copied and pasted the entire pr_gb soldiers folder and renamed it pr_nz. I have reskinned the models when they were still called pr_gb and now i have put the original textures back into pr_gb and my textures are in pr_nz. Yet for some reason when i go into the editor it still loads the original pr_gb textures :( any one know what is going wrong? I need to do the same for the kits files aswell so if you know how to do it please tell me also.

B) Using AASv3, is it ok to have several main base options for each side in a map but only have one spawn? this is only for light vehicles/infantry maps though. I thought it might be a good idea for the smaller layer of a map i am making.

C) Pretty much the same as A except for vehicles. I have reskinned the Landrover and Huey then copied and pasted the files and renamed them with _nz in he name. I put the old textures back into the original files. When i loaded the editor they loaded the original textures :( any help?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

D) How do i fix this??

All help is appreciated :)
Cheers,
HangMan

ur skinning problems i think come down to the mesh itself and the texture files its trying to look for. This can be edited with a few programs ppl have made for editing bundeledmesh files, then again it could just be something else like a simple spelling mistake or something. Cant comment on the map tho i aint a mapper ;)

your need to "rename" more than just the folder of the object, you need to "rename" the object in the .con and .tweak files and correct the mesh path to load your new textures.

just search on the bfeditor forums and you will find 99% of the answers to all your problems related to bf2.

and your the map, if i got it right, yes. but i would advise that you just test it :)

It works but do PR allow it?

IIRC grab a hex editor and open the bundledmesh file.

There are some tools available on BFEditor forums and/or BattlefieldSinglePlayerForums that allow you to dump the texture paths of a bundledmesh and change them.

I've used it with a great degree of success when I started my "project cleanup project reality".

Only works if you keep the texture path the same length, otherwise you'll end up with a corrupted mesh file. You need a tool to do it - I use the command line tool that's part of the 3ds max plugin. If you have the max plugin you can find it in Scripts\bf2\bin\release\bf2materials.exe.

There are fancy versions available with a GUI if you don't like the command prompt - search on the bfeditor website for "materials tool" or something.
