Arteries

Ok, so if any of you have basic knoledge of a body then you know that being shot in one of the main arteries in your leg or arm or chest can cause some serious bleeding.

What i'm suggesting is that lets say if your player get's hit in this part of his body it causes him to be imediatly wounded like a head shot. This would empisis the fact that your entire body needs to be in cover. it can also make it so you don't have to aim for the head for a imediate kill and can take your chances by aiming at there mass.

IIRC the BF2 enginen cant be made to register hits on different bodyparts.
Dont quote me on this,but im pretty shure it cannot be done.

Also,i think this might be a resugestion..

No it can, iirc though you can't make new ones, there is just the torso, legs, arms and head.

I assume the BF2 hitboxes are pretty similar to the one in 2142.

But since not all shot hit main arteries you would have to apply some sort of random generator to the hitboxes and that sounds harcoded to me.

Could it not be done through materials such as it is done on vehicles....

I have no idea,i just remeber reading a post on something like this some time ago,and the general conclusion was that it was not possible.
Maybe a DEV or MOD will shed some light to this :)

It can't be done. The body is just a bunch of polygonal shapes with limbs, torso, and head having different damage modifiers. The bodies do not model the cardiovascular system or any other system for that matter.

Yes is exactly supposed to register hits on different bodyparts, ever noticed that the targets usyally come down easier when shot to the head? the problem is that its not that accurate and might be hardcoded

im sorry but i couldn't find a topic that said anything the same as what i said here. Theres ones that suggest diffrent damage to diffrent parts but not arteries which cause instant critical wounded.

i think theirs a different of damage with head/torso/limbs
