Err...These are some pretty eff'd up graphics...

Yeah...so I booted up PR after driving my friend home (we had just finished a game of PR), and I loaded up into the Virginia server, everything was going normal. The game finishes loading, and BAM, I had the WEIRDEST graphical issues to date. I've only seen it once, in stock bf2, and it was not fixed by any amount of reinstalls (I tried reinstalling 20 times...you'd think that would have fixed it if it could...). The first game of PR I had played earlier since I updated worked perfectly fine. This time though, things were different. You're probably waiting for my specs, so here they are:
Processor:
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor (4 CPUs), OC'd to ~3.7GHz
Memory:
6144MB RAM DDR3
Hard Drive:
2.615 TB over 5 hard drives (BF2 is on the OS drive)
Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 1gb
Operating System:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Motherboard:
MSI 790FX-GD70
These specs can easily handle Crysis on Max, so I have no clue as to why it would do something weird like this. It did this in stock bf2 before I overclocked it, so it shouldn't have anything to do with that. I've searched the internet thoroughly, including the PR/TG/PoE forums (because EA is useless...go figure), and I found nothing related to my issue. In my opinion, it looks like EA built a piss-poor crappy-texture-wallhack into their game, for the devs to giggle at. While some people may go "OMFG, LUCKY, LEGIT WALLHACK WANT", I do not want it. It makes the game HARDER to play. I've fallen off so many cliffs trying to walk to where I wish to go. It's like having a blind person drive you from San Francisco to New York; It's just not going to happen.
Here are the screenshots:

I have a suspicion that you didn't patch your game correctly...
I found this same bug when I accidentally didn't patch to 1.41 when I was doing some local tests on stuff
have you been getting alot of PB kicks?

I have gotten NO punkbuster kicks. Just crash to desktops (no errors, at all.)

What version of Bf2 are you using then?

If you still have trouble run
battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files
Still no joy?
Trash your BF2 cache files
Path:
C:\Users\'your user name here'\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache
Throw EVERYTHING inside the folder named cache away.
don't worry the files will be replaced with new ones when the game restarts.
OK
Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001
To find your version of BF2
run PR in 'windowed' mode
Look at the upper left corner
you should see
v.1.5.3153-802.0

Also, are you forcing AA through an external app? IIRC this has been caused before by forcing AA through nvid CP.

Still not fixed...even after trying all of the above >.<;;. Correct version, still CTDs. HOWEVER, the graphics have fixed themselves.
EDIT: No, anti aliasing is not forced.

Erm...didn't you just give me those instructions 3 posts ago?

If you haven't already, go to Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2 and delete everything inside of that folder. Now check your graphics settings in the control panel and ensure that anisotropic, anti-aliasing, and just about everything else is set to application controlled. After that, start PR and ensure that all the graphics settings are as they should be, and then try to load a map.
If you still get the problem, chances are it's a memory issue. You can try setting your max memory to 2900. Run msconfig and go to Boot -> Advanced Options, then check Maximum memory and set it to 2900. Reboot and load up PR again.

Tried it. Still the same issue.
I just noticed something odd...
Whenever I play a map and the graphics don't decide to cut themselves (look like the screenshots), the game does not CTD. However...when they do look weird (see the screens on the first page), it does not CTD. Also, the weird graphics (if you didn't guess) are back.
...Can I blame EA for making a fail game that Pro modders can't even seem to fix?

You tried setting your max memory lower too? BTW are you saying that when the game does not look weird, the game does not crash, and when the graphics DO look weird, the game does crash?

@snares. Correct about the graphics.
Did not try setting the memory lower. Though, wouldn't that be reducing the amount of available memory altogether?

Are you running game in windowed mode instead of fullscreen or is windows7 doing this somehow automaticly so that you dont even notice that its technically not on fullscreen mode ?
This bug happens to me every time i run game in windowed mode on windows vista, terrain wont draw like in those screens.

I do not believe it is running in Windowed mode. It should be running in Fullscreen, unless, what you're saying is happening and Windows 7 decides that windows mode is what it is running in.

make sure that your system is not over heating, check the temperatures
make sure to get the latest drivers, sometimes older drivers will improve stability too - so you might want to check around in some forums like
NVIDIA & Laptop News | Latest NVIDIA drivers and related news | laptopvideo2go.com or overclocking forums, which drivers suite best
another thing you could try is turn off overclocking and see if that helps

My system is fine. CPU is running at 50c/core, hdd's and gpu are running cool, plenty of cooling in there. The ocing shouldn't be the issue, considering it did this before I even oc'd my comp. I do have the latest drivers, and I can't try any older drivers, because there are no older drivers for windows 7.

what driver are you using? Im having this same issue so your not alone, same temp on the processor so im pretty sure your running a Core i7 right? what resolution are you running at? not like it matters, but i didnt need to worry about the game crashing with multi-monitors (having multiple monitors gave the same crashing affect as alt-tab).
if your using NVIDIA 191.07 then i think the drivers are the culprit, even though these drivers are WHQL signed D:
if its the drivers ill be angry
edit: well repatching the game only worked once... fail... im not sure what is causing it
btw, is it normal for the cache to be located in Docuements/Battlefield 2/mods/bf2/? wouldnt or shouldnt it be mods/pr?
