players from finland?
anyone?

Yep there is loads of finnish players, like in all computer games for some reason even we are small country =) Also finnish server "pelitutka" is running sometimes but it doesnt stay alive for long because of bad map list and because of admins doesnt wake up the server every day like they should (just my opinion) =P

Averagely i would say if you play on 64players EU server, there is about 5 other finnish players playing same time with you on that same server.


Would also be quite easy to make finnish faction if someone would model few weapons and uniform and if we would get some of the voice acts from bf1942 mod called finnwars and make rest. Most vehicles are being done for other factions already so only logo would need to be changed for vehicles. (like leopard 2a4, CV9030, bmp2)

Finnish has two official language: english and finnish. Thats the common mis belief. I think your kinda alone on this one.
(basically he is suggesting a place where Fins (and others) could speak their own language).

Yes would be cool to have a finnish faction since theres some of us at afganistan, not much combat but its not like the chinas in war whit GB and America

Would be awesome if Deer and possibly Tupla S would see if they would be able to pull off the main assault rifle(RK-95) and other skins,(everything in this post is propably whisfull thinking)

edit: The MEC skycow would serve as a fine transport chopper for the FDF whit a simple resking

my english is average but sometimes its hard to explain some suggestions to the community.
and i check the forum rules and there it is: only english.

Wierd, my pack of smokes has Finnish and Swedish on it.

And I bought it right here in Tampere.

As for the finnish army, unless you're gunna do it yourself it ain't gunna happen. We've also got plenty of factions for the limited number of technically and artisitcally gifted individuals in the PR community to be working on for the time being. Perhaps you should wait for them to be finished before attempting to start up another.

If i had any skills on modelling i would have allrdy done the whole finnish defence force

I see finns on the skyttegrav.se server quite regularly. I bet you wouldn't have any trouble getting some FINVOIP squads running there

Yes, those are the two official ones. I was just saying that most foreigns think (at least i get it allot) that English is some kind of official language here, as most of the online community understand/speaks it pretty well.
And some just don't know anything about us
IMHO Finnish people are quite rude on public servers and tend to play with other fins cos most of the us are quite HC and are always talking down other players

We have own server but the admins / members aren't interested in seeding it AND other finnish players aren't interested in joining the server which has less than 50 players so our Pelitutka server has been sitting pretty empty since the start of the summer. Last try was today at 18:00 with 14 players and it didn't get any higher than that.

PR has own "official" finnish irc channel #projectreality.fi @ quakenet and there is about 40-50 people during the day, but the most active core consist of ~10 persons.

If you want to play on finnish PR server and want to keep it alive, help us by playing there.I've been sitting there probably hundreds of hours trying to get people during these past 1,5 years years it's been running. Don't just speak about it on the forums, act.

I try to activate it with my friends every day after 18:00 but it's not working well. Finnish guys just choose other servers instead which is shame. I always prefer own native language over english.

Edit: It probably would be possible to password the server and allow only finnish people in and get it ~full during the "game time" but it maybe wouldn't work. Click21 guys did this and their brazilian server is pretty succesful

The maplist is missing only these maps atm: Bi Ming, Kyongan Ni, Ghost Train, Ramiel, Kashan, Qinling, Kufrah. I believe one of these is just too hard for public (Qinling), kills the server (Kashan [with execptions]), boring (Kyongan). Kufrah could be added. However the last remaining two cause server to crash randomly so they prolly won't be added.

If we can spread the word around hard enough among the finnish guys, we could organize games for every day starting at time x. I can only get 0-6 guys with me and it alone isnt enough for good games let alone getting the server populated.

Funny as I and some people i know just love kufrah,ramiel, ghost train and kashan. You should really try some other maplist's and i can come

Most players on Pelitutka has no idea how to play PR. Teamwork is very random and rare, people are rude and they are mostly "liian peeloja". Its always fun to play with ur native language, but more important to me is to play with good players. And its sad, because my english is horrible

Last time i played with Finns on the same server, they teamkilled my squad member inside the supplytruck and stole it. After that i teamkilled him, and rest of the round the whole finnish squad tried to kill my squad. GG. We have some very HC players, but too many tards in this community, acutually in every community.

I see the same in almost every popular PR server, nothing new really under the sky. it's just easier to see that when theres only a bunch of people playing compared to a full server.
