Amount of sniper realistic?

I have never been in War on US or iraqies side, but i guess there aint 50% of troops with sniper rifles. Making sniper rifle as powerfull as it is in real life, would make game unrealistic because then 90% of ppls would be using sniper rifle. So there is 2 options, make sniper rifle crappy, or make sniper rifle very good with limit of how many snipers there can be in team, maybe 1 or 2, afaik nobody has found the way to put limits on how many kits there can be.

Even now sniper rifle is so good that it can ruin a whole map and gameplay just simply because you cant limit like 2 snipers per team for 64 players mode.

Also if the sniper rifle would be very powerfull and there would be limited amount of those, that would cause shitloads of TKing just for the gun.

How about one per squad? It would encourage team work.

One marksman per squad... maybe.

I think there should only be one or two legitimate snipers per map (on a 64p).

Ive never seen more than 5 snipers on either side, i see a lot of posts mentioning everyone is a sniper or everyone is support, etc. well everyone cant be every class can they. You played on either a **** server or the server was unfortunately filled with stupid players at the time.

Just look for a different server.

If you want to hurt snipers, just make them accurate as in RL, and give them a very limited amount of ammo... They are elite forces and are supposed to be able to effectivly pull of one shot kills....But ATM, their are accuracy issues, so this should be ignored.

Post .3 [and the addition of the SPR] i've been running into FULL SQUADS of snipers. Seems to have calmed down a little now, but I agree that class limits should be set. It just remains to be seen whether that is possible within the limitations of the BF2 engine. The word on the street is no, sadly. There are other suggestions currently being thought about such as "pick up kits" [in other words kits that spawn on map in certain locations to be picked up rather than spawned with]. Rest assured that the devs know about this problem and if they can fix it, they will.

Again, I agree with Eden. This problem is overexaggerated, I've never really had this problem on the servers I go on. You guys just aren't looking hard enough.

The reason that everyone in real life isn't a sniper is because you have to do extensive training to be a sniper, in PRMM it takes a couple clicks. The reason people don't choose to do this is because marksmanship is a fine art that's very difficult to master. In PRMM, again, it takes a couple clicks.

The thing that I'm concerned about most about limiting classes is that I can imagine going on a server and not being able to play sniper because someone with a faster computer than me got it first. I'd call myself a skilled sniper, I played it as much as possible, when I'm not needed as a medic. and I'm very efficient with it. I don't want to lose that priviledge because other players use it for the easy kills. No, I'm not one of those boons that totally abuses the kit, I either use the kit as part of a squad as a dedicated marksman or I go lone wolf when I'm a commander to do some advance recon and support over the CPs my team's attacking.
