LB ownage on ramiel Strategy

Heres a strategy that worked for me last night on ramiel for a total of 1 hour 35 minute flight time. With 18 kills 0 deaths. Just patroling the desert and taking out enemy vehicles.
This strat only works if your comp has maxed out graphics and view distance. Because ramiel has no fog/blurry vision at long distances. It is possible to identify targets from far away.
Start the round, hop in LB , take off to 300 altitude. Now the city of ramiel is surrounded by a desert. It is easy to identify targets in. In particular enemy cars/jeeps/bikes. It is also easy to see enemy insurgents mining the bridges that lead to US main.
When you are up at 300 altitude and you find a target. You should imdeiatly check the area around target for incoming technicals before you begin your assault dive on target.
Your atack dive on target should be a 90 degree angle. Espicially on technicals because they wont be able to see you. Dive on your target and let your mini guns tear them to shreds. When mission is complete RTB to main for ammo, rinse & repeat.
For an hour and 30 minutes i patroled the desert around the city of ramiel and got 18 kills , which included 6 technicals, 2 bombcars , and 6 insurgents planting mines/ieds on the bridges leading to main.

Personally, I think that's cool, but I'm sure you'll get flamed by others here since it sounds like you're just playing for kills. But still, you're helping out the team, so that's good. I'll have to give this a try.

RTB means return to base... just so you know

This is a good plan. Until a SA-7 gets you for hovering in the same spot for too long.

if the INS team knew any better, they would anticipate for nxt gun run and give you a hearty welcome...
when that happens, usually i try and take the suckers out as they are getting out of their dive.
if a captured saw is around-saw will primarily look for that pesky LB.
Better to help your team then be tom cruise(top gun reference)-the way the game is meant to be played.

SA-7 can never hit LB that is just absurd or pilot is doing something rly seriously wrong!
And what comes to fragging. It really does help ur team on its own way.. In insurgent maps you get intel when you kill enemies.

SA-7's can hit LBs quite easily

Or the SA7 operator is doing something seriously wrong.

I can't believe people are actually criticising an Atk-LB pilot for adopting a strategy to gain as many kills as possible. What's he supposed to do, type in every enemy location he can while flying around?

Or do the smart thing, grab a copilot and use the FLIR to spot every enemy cache. Makes things alot easier since the commanders UAV is so much slower.

Get the copilot and fly really high...then he can spot for targets for you AND YOUR TEAM from very high up.

FLIR? never heard of a FLIR in PR.
"scouting" is not really working that well because of how weak the littlebird is. Maybe if the co-pilot uses the sights as far away as possible it could work, but it takes alot of hovering to be effective and thats dangerous. Also, thats two men doing something the commander UAV should be able too. Also, the slowness of the UAV is what makes it great, try spotting caches from a chopper going 200 km/h.
I think the OP´s strategy is great. Killing that many vehicles does help your team by occupying their time and disrupting their plans. Still if you would have died just once I would have questioned it because of the massive ticket loss, so it all comes down to skill and luck. Best thing is usually to take the littlebird, fly it to the corner of the map, and hide it there so that nobody uses it. Bluefor would win so much more on so many maps if it wasnt for those damn choppers making people throw their brain out the window all the time.

The 'very high up' ends at around 450m height, as above that all you'll see is fog because the view distance is 500m and your cone of view narrows the higher you go, at 450-500m you would probably be only able to spot stuff directly below you.

I do hope your not serious or haven't been playing long...
Because FLIR is operated from the co-pilots seat by pressing 2

Are you stating that the mod should be "Infantry Reality"?

True, but doesn't it represent the FLIR?

Yes, because I put it there...
It represents whe flir camera yes, but when someone says FLIR you kind of expect thermal vision, not just a standard camera with the name, which is probably why he said he hadn´t seen FLIR in game.

You should call it FLC(FrontLookingCamera), not FLIR(FrontLookingInfraRed) ;D

1. Its just a camera.
2. Nope, im suggesting people learn to fly on training servers. Im also hinting that people should ask themselves if they help out the team by taking named asset. If brain answers with no, then leave it alone.
