Make LMGs run less. Much less. Or just a little, but less.

I searched for the keywords "run less" but nothing came up.
Well, I can't believe it wasn't suggested yet ('cuz it probably was) but I think it's not painfull to make this thread is it?
Ok, so a lot of people say LMGs are powerful. Whether the zoom is a spinerz pwnerz or the guy can go prone and shoot with pin-point accuracy for a long long range.
Therefore I suggest... Make LMG guys run much less. And slower if possible. Running less is (as it was implemented in vBF2, ex. Assault class has less spring than SpecOps) possible.
This would balance the game for these reason:
-Squads with LMGs would have a slower pace...
-Ranger squads (light infantry) would be much more efficient against an enemy squad.
Also, the LMG are heavier than assault rifles, therefore would be more realistic.
Well, what do you guys think? I'll start doing more ranger squads if this is implemented...
Cheers!

Is there a real life reason for this?
Does it help gameplay in some way?
If so please explain.
Are you only suggesting it because you think LMGs are overpowered?
Then why wouldn't you suggest something else like longer set up time or shorter overheat that would affect the actual use of the weapon?

i actully think the real problem with the LMG is that undeployed is extremle accurate in close combat:/
but the main problem with it is people going request the LMG/take it from another kit and than they should have the normal sprint... and people who change from the LMG will be slower... also i guess that they carry less equipment in RL because of the extra weight... but im not sure how helpful it is.

I used to think this, but after seeing troops fire a M249 PARA while standing up, not only with ease but with a fair amount of speed and precision i think they are fine the way they are.

could have the kits with weight factors-lightest kit should be medic (just b/c they are very important
even with the decrease in speed.
plus that would make camping even more valuable, they should just increase the requirement of squad members-from just 2 squadies, to 3-4 then they can request an LMG.

First off these guys are soldiers, not your run of the mill guy. They have been trained to carry alot of weight on them for hours at a time. The LMG in the squad would be able to keep up the pace but not as for long. Like in the game atm.

LMG guys, ATM, can keep up A LOT. That's the POINT of this THREAD.
What I'm saying is, ATM, LMGs are like rifles, only with deployed mode and auto-fire.
If that's that, why don't everyone carry a LMG?
Therefore I suggest make LMG guys run less and slower. Not a lot, but enough to make light infantry squads more sensefull.
If a squad was carrying a HAT, an LMG, an anti-air gun, anykind of heavy equipments they should move on a slower pace. Which means, if they get somewhere and prepare, they will destroy any enemies that try to approach (Heavy or Light squads). That's kinda based of Sun Tzu Art of War ("If the army is settled down, the soldiers will be more at ease and will act better" or something like that).

If the LMGs had hand grenades etc, i.e. the same kind of equipment weight as the other soldiers carry then I'd say sure.
LMG = 1 knife, weapon, smoke, field dressing etc.
rifleman = 1 knife, weapon, grenades, smoke, ammo
i.e. if anything the rifleman is probs carrying more.
But they don't so no.
Also, this won't work anyway, as afaik this can only apply to spawn kits, not requested kits.

I'm not really used to abreviations such as afaik and probs (probably or problems?). But it sounds that you said I'm wrong about my suggestion.
Well, ok.
Btw, it could be easily fixed by making LMGs only spawnable.
BUT WAIT... DOES this MEANS that HAT guys run as much as RIFLEMANS, since they are a requested kit??
Not I'm pretty sure that's wrong.

Nope, that should be right.
Speed is connected to the kit you spawn with. If you request a new kit, you'll still have the same speed as before. When it was like that, everyone spawned with the fastest kit there was and then requested stuff like HAT.
I'm not sure, but I think right now all (conventional) kits have the same speed. That's not 100% realistic, but at least not exploitable.

All squads of 4-6 men should have a machine gun. In reality, every 3rd/4th man has one.
There's an 8 second settle time on the deployed mode to simulate the machine gunner setting up position which tends to slow them down already.
