hey im new the the 3D world and was wondering if someone could show me how to create a simple model?

Your asking allot man, I suggest hitting up some tutorials. 3D while it may seem simple or something you can jump into, its not. I would do all the tutorials that came with max...if for some reason you do not have those tutorials check online.

ah okay. i dont know what to install tho. i got it from the school server and there is everything wih it. auto cad, backburner, sp1, sp2. etc. so LOL

OK what do you have to start with, you say:
auto cad but that and entirely different program to 3ds max and what version are we talking about 2006, 2009, 9 or 2010. Although the versions are very alike some have different tools.
So give us an idea of what you got so we can help you better

And Red is right if you want to learn theirs plenty off tuts, theirs PR's : Modding Tutorials - Project Reality Forums and you can use the in built ones as well theirs also plenty on line.
