Kozelsk could use a russian carrier

I am suggesting this re work of the map kozelsk because half the time when the server switches to this map, about 60% leave the server because the map really sucks.

<a href="http://photobucket.com/images/kozelsk%20overview" target="_blank"><img src="http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j290/ ... cnc_64.png" border="0" alt="kozelsk overview Pictures, Images and Photos"/></a>

Here is the overview , do you see the big ocean on the bottom left of the map. Its a big body of water and its enough to support a carrier.

Is it possible to re work this map and add a russian carrier ?

You could lose the russian main base and have the russian APCs spawn at the bottom of carrier just like US muttrah/jabal for example.

You could also move the 2 russian tanks to the Chechan side and give the russians Hind atack helicopters and sea cow transports.

This would make the map 100% more fun than it is now.

Roflmao. It looks more of a lake then a sea, tbh.

This is more of a 'because we can' suggestion.

It would require an all new model for the carrier. Also "Admiral Kuznetsov", russias only carrier, is an aircraft carrier, not an amfibous assault carrier like the USS Essex.

So you are suggesting adding air support and a landing requirement for the map? How would that make it more fun? What would giving the tanks to the other side improve?

The map is a land based assault with the water limiting the advancement, just like mountains and other terrain. It isn't there just to put a boat into, and adding assets doesn't improve all maps.

Currently the Russians have tanks and the Chechyns have Spandrels to counter the tanks. The Spandrels can make use of the water to flank the tanks so the water can and is used. Additionally I haven't seen large masses of people leave due to changing to this map. maybe that is a server specific issue?

and then we realised it was all a dream.

The maps problems are rooted in its AASv3 base imo, and the lack of a 32 layer featuring air power.

Why don't we add a sea monster because we can? The 25 post limit on the Suggestions Forum is there for a reason.

I disagree.
IMHO those suggestions of yours would ruin the map.

Did you know Chechnya is a landlocked region? ;)

As jbgeezer had said Russia only has one aircraft carrier

As previously stated the 25 post limit for the suggestion forum is there for a very very good reason.

In addition, things that would need to happen in order for this to become a reality:
  • Someone would need to make a Russian carrier model. Since (as stated) Russia only have 1 aircraft carrier, this would also be unrealistic in every sense.
  • Someone would have to model, texture, code and export a Hind that is suitable for use in PR.
  • Someone would have to move Chechnya (afaik only God has this kind of mapping skill) so that it is not entirely land-locked.
IMHO Kozelsk is a rather brilliantly constructed map as it is, despite being hindered slightly by the AASv3 gamemode which occasionally does not show the map in the glory that it can achieve. I do however agree that air assets would be lovely and would provide an excellent alternative to the heavy armour layer.

I fail to see how Kozelsk would be good for air assets in anyway, how are you going to clear a forest with choppers? only a few LZ's also. Its a great map as it is.

Moved to the suggestion forum for being a suggestion.

Locked for being totally impractical and unrealistic.

I LOL'd at that.

Kozelsk is a great map. It's a pity people leave a server when it comes on, but those that are left, and those that subsequently join, clearly appreciate it for what it is.
