Squad leaders' M4

One time, I shot a MEC dude 4 times(semi auto) in the back with my regular M16A4 and that
killed him,I switched to my dead SL's officer kit and patched myself up to stop bleeding
suddenly a MEC ARgunner ran out and I bursted him 3 times(9shots) in his chest with the M4
but he didn't die

,I got pwned by his Hk21E,wth.
Is M4 really that weak or MEC ARgunners wear some kind of secret alien technology body
armor.....
BTW,what do you think if US officers use full-auto M4A1?

No faction has M4's for officers AND M16's for the regular grunts.

You got hit reg problem's it looks like, and bad, hit reg prob's can be attributed to ether ping or packet loss, ping related problem's is simply that the hit boxes are not aligned properly with the target, and can be easily fixed
Sandy's Dirty Little Secret - Hit Registration in BF2 [Archive] - BigD Gaming Community
it in my computer/ EA games / BF2 /mods/PR/setting/ and finality usersettings
or You might be experiencing packet loss( symptom’s are bullet‘s you are firing disappearing from the server and as you describe bullet‘s failing to register, packet loss is information being lost in transient to and from the server to your system.
If you are experiencing packet loss, it best to limit the amount of information being transferred two and from the server. how you could go about doing this is by turning down your graphic’s, you could turn down the graphic's in game, but those are not too bad, what usually is coursing the problem's is your graphic's card settings, what you want to do is change the setting's from quality to performance.
The less information being transferred will in theory lessen the volume of information that is leaking.
you can test for packet loss by using this site
Line quality testing - dslreports.com you have to register for the free test
If you are experiencing a very bad leak, you have to then get in contact with your service provider and get them to fix it.

Well you see actually there you are wrong. The USMC faction grunts carry standard M16's and the Officers carry M4's. It was a change implemented in 0.85 iirc and was done to reflect the fact that in RL USMC officers carry M4's.
@the op, the hit reg was screwed, you actually did not hit the AR gunner with your 9 shots perhaps due to packet loss or ping issues. RHYS gives a more detailed description.

I don't see how turning your graphics settings down could help at all. Also to test your packet loss just open up a command window and type
ping -t -l 1024 http://www.anywebsite.com

AFAIK the difference between the M16 and M4 in PR is only cosmetic anyway?

The only people who use M4A1s are people under SOCOM with very few exceptions. All the M4s used by normal troops have a Safe, Semi, and 3 round Burst trigger group.

^ Thermis knows his stuff, BF2 hitreg sucks and there is no difference whatsoever between the M16 and M4 in PR other than the model.

if i recollect correctly, the M16 does a some more damage. they chamber what PR calls a NATO5.56, while the M4s have the PR NATO carbine 5.56. IIRC its .30 something more damage. takes the same amount of shots to kill someone, though.

hit reg?,I guess that is why I sometime have to spend a whole clip to put down people.
kinda piss me off when I had chance to stab someone in the back,it takes 3 or 4 hit to kill him
need to sharp my knife....
Will "hitreg" happen on vehicle?
I fired a tank shell at the A-10 and hit it in the nose but it didn't go off,is that a hit reg?
or its just because APFSDS round couldn't do too much damege to planes

??:
Thank you all for replying, and thanks for info.
Bob.

some kick for autohotkey, but i just pick another server then. or you can enter the ping, tab out and close the hitfixer program.
Brummy wrote:Is there a 2.0 exe? I don't like AHK
nope. previous version exists in .exe. better than nothing.
