I was just wondering why you fight the insurgents in basra is this after or during the Invasion
because surely it would be the Iraqi Army

Because its after the initial invasion. Its now fighting against the insurgency.

The Iraqi Army in Project Reality have already been defeated and the conflicts in Al Basrah and West Fallujah are representative of the campaign against the insurgents in the years following the destruction of Saddam Hussain's government.

Hence the name of the game mode; insurgency

If you wanna play a Iraqi Army kinda faction, the MEC is as close as it gets.

That is somewhat outdated.

You can tell it is after the invasion because the British didn't have nice military establishments with large cargo planes, command posts, tank/APC/IFV repair stations, and fully-constructed checkpoints during the invasion.

What about the after-invasion Iraqi Army? You know, the Iraqis who sign up to fight alongside the Coalition?
