USA own Muttrah City

Ever think that USA seem to have it easy on Muttrah City. Their APC's are alot better than MEC, they also have a Cobra and Transport Helicopters. MEC seem like no match compared to USA on Muttrah City. Does anyone else out there agree?

I disagree. To me it seems like the MEC win maybe 60-70% of the matches and generally when the U.S. win its rather close. I think the main cause of this is in fact the helicopters, well actually the pilots.
Now if we say both teams have the same skill level and the pilots don't suck, it all comes down to teamwork, as does every map. The LAVs one-on-one easily beat the BTR, but 2 BTRs can take out a LAV and although I've never seen it, 3 BTRs coordinating against 2 coordinating LAVs, to me is a very fair fight. As for the helicopters, they aren't dominant because of the AA which can be anywhere in the city and the ability for BTRs to shoot nearly straight up.
To me it's a very fair fight IF both teams are equal in skill and are able to work together.

imo the LAVs are what make the map possibly unbalanced, as they can splash damage in to buildings where infantry are hiding.
Though tbh the MEC don't necessarily require a particularly good team to win, whreas the USMC need a teamwork oritentated team to win against a not-so-great MEC team, because they rely on specialised assets, whereas the MEC's support structure is simplier.
But overall, its a pretty balanced map, though a BMP on the mec team would just be awesomesauce. (replace a BTR and make non-respawnable)

One of the best balanced maps in my opinion

depends on the teams. ive seen maps where usmc cant even touch foot on the ground without getting lit up and ive seen it where the usmc steam rolls mec .

Heh, the HUey comment makes me remember the "stealth" Huey
In a test build for .8, they disabled the Huey sounds to see if they were causing an error. A Huey streaking by 10 feet over your head with no sound at all was awesome.

Like how I got rolled tonight. Every five seconds.. "MEDIC!!!". I ran out of supplies my first round.

Anyway, when US wins, its pretty close, but ive seen MEC win with all objectives capped for 15 mins.

I disagree. In my experience it is the opposite.
The US may have more APCs but they also have fewer. The Cobra is pathetically easy to destroy also if you make it your mission to do so. The MEC is defending with a strong initial advantage. A strong US team can do very well however.
It all comes down to the players though. It is fairly balanced.

Depends on players, but does sometimes feel like 64 people don't seem to be enough really.
I find that usually when US have a bad round, it's related to rushing flags they can't capture yet and flipping over choppers at start or wasting 3-4 minutes waiting on carrier before departing, giving the MEC valuable time to set up. And also if there's no defense of Docks and a bunch of hobos camping MEC base from the fort or going around hills with sniper kits or sitting at the mosque which seems to be an attractive flag, it pretty much ends quickly.

Having only 1 flag in play at a time, like in the old Muttrah would be interesting. Though US team seems to be stopped at mosque everytime.

Last two games ive played on Muttrah MEC have completely owned the US team , so all depends on the players i suppose.

the only thing which sometimes makes it unbalanced is BTR bugginess, so its nowhere near to LAV
capabilities if you know where to shoot, you can kill it with 4 grenades, or a couple of small arms clips into some parts will do the trick
other aspects are fine imo, there is always a place for tweaks, but atm map is fine

Actualy the BTR-80 owns the LAV however the LAV is better vs infantry, or atleast it was last patch

. Overall on the 64 layer the map is balanced.

all depends on if the MEC can use AA effectively. The apcs are easy to deal with.
