co-pilot no warmup

hello i was just playing karbala a lil while ago and i had a co-pilot helping me spot,, my suggestion is if you have a co-pilot in any of the choppers and you get shot out or killed there should be no engine warmup time and the co-pilot should be able to take over flying immedatly, otherwise whats the point of the co-pilot besides the useless flir cam

dont think this is possible but what about a button to press so if u spot something he didnt u can switch it up while flying when nobody dies

Its a re-suggestion but definetly something PR needs

Yeah I noticed this problem whe I was with a bot in a helicopter and he was driving horibbly and wasting all the missiles so I kicked him out and got in the driver seat, luckily I was high enough to REwarm the engine before I hit the water below me. I was 5 mtrs above the water when I started to accelerate.

If you can figure out a way to prevent people from exploiting it, I guess it could stand to go in.

i agree with that ... the warm up time would just have to be returned back to normal BF2 standards though in that case :S

Even if its possible with this insanely primitive engine, I could imagine the coding disaster it would take to do this.

I actually did this in game with a Cobra when the pilot was disconnected. If you can seat switch fast enough, theres a much smaller warmup time.

But yes, increase the cool down time of the helicopter might work well also?

Yeah, the same thing happens with planes. If you get in a Jet, get it running long enough to get it moving, you can get out, and get back in to just get moving again. This is more obvious in vBF2 with helicopters. I believe this is hardcoded, so we may be unable to change it.

Increase cooldown as said above...problem solved

(needs to be tested tho :D )

I have absolutely no idea, but if we give people a little time and a little leeway, I'm sure we can find out :P

The cool down period in PR is pretty much 10x faster than in vBF2, which leads me to think it was a change implicated a while back, and probably not hardcoded :D

Take 4 transport choppers and five pilots.

Pilots 1-4 hop in their respective choppers.

Pilot 5 hops in the copilot seat of chopper 1.

Pilot 1 hops out, pilot 5 takes over - no warm up time so chopper is ready to go.

Pilot 1 hops into chopper 2, switch, repeat.

Within about 10 seconds you can have 4 choppers warmed up and ready to go if the solution is to have the copilot not have a warm up time.

I like the extended cool down, which if it is a simple number change, would be a great addition as the copilot would need to already have a Pilot Kit and the only use would be to keep an already warmed up chopper/jet air born or to switch out pilots for an already warmed up asset.

I very highly doubt this would ever happen on a pub,,, btw there is no map with 5 choppers unless ur counting lb's too and even then it is only muttrah at start of map. No exploit i can think of other than the button idea i had if u cant see something and ur co-pilot does and u switch seats and then he doesnt give it back

how about they just make it so if there's no pilot while its still flying like in vBf2 it would spin and float for a while instead of crashing straight to the ground?

If I understand correctly, the exploit snooggums drafted would not work if only the cool down time was raised, as it still wouldn't be warmed up, but you would still have it how ever warm it was when the pilot jumped out at

not jumped out, shot out or killed, pilot has no sidearm and no reason for him to be paratrooping into battle to begin with

what i want is that if u have a co-pilot spotting and you get killed,,, GIVE HIM CONTROL of the aircraft so it doesnt go to waste otherwise the co-pilot is unrealistic
