Well, since i upgraded from vista to windows 7 (did a custom format install though) my game has been running like ****... what would happen is when i join a server and i finishes loading, then i click squad asignment... it would flicker a blank screen twice( sometimes showing the desktop...) 50% of the time this would result in me having to reconnect because i would get a punkbusterb handshake error.... then when i did get connected with Anti-Alias on the ground would be transparent or texture buffering errors (also, very laggy)...

the fix:
right click your PR shortcut and click properties
then the compatibility tab
then check "Disable Visual Themes & also Disable Desktop Composition... make sure you have it as 'Run this program as an adminitrator aswell..'
(also, make sure it is not running in compatibilty mode.)

Ive not really noticed a difference since I put Windows 7 on but I shall try this. ty

if you notice after connecting to a server and it flickers, tab out... your taskbar will be plain (no windows glass effect) that is what Disable Visual Themes & Disable Desktop Composition are, which causes lag... i had my desktop image changing every 30mins, when that happened my game would skip for a few seconds and never felt the same again...
