Make grapling hook a requestable kit.

So I was sitting here typing at the Beta forum and I thought: why does anyone can have a grapling hook?

IRL, I believe, not every soldier can climb rope easily as in PR. Therefore I suggest this:

-Make grapling hooks (Rifleman Specialist) a requestable kit, like 3 or 4 for each team with the same restrictions as the other specialized kits.
This would make a squad become more "elite", being able to climb a rope with all that equipment...

AND/OR

-Make climbing a rope slower and/or stamina using. Ropes are not easy to climb at all I believe... specially with all that equipment soldiers carry (and the lack of fitness of insurgents).

What do you guys think?

ALSO, I would really like grapling hooks could be used in a more "horizontal" montion (as in, you can use to rope to move over a hill that is too steep for you to move through it (you slide in BF2), you know? Perhaps it could be allied with some "grapling sensor" as in a rope will slide down the hill if it isn't properly placed (like, over a wall or beyond a ledge or something) 'cuz ropes don't "glue" to the ground.

So, any remarks?

Cheers!

I dont know mate, but climbing ropes aint hard
Alos makeing them more elite aint a good argument

Ropes can only be used on statics

Im against that unless they buff the kit, like replacing the breaching slug with buckshot, or tripflares with flashbangz, I dont see much ppl taking specialist, its completely useless on some maps, so why make it limited anyway? (Tripflares = fail!)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but soldiers do carry a lot of equipments right?

Also, what I meant "elite" would simply mean "that squad can climb ropes" but it would also mean that not everyone could climb it...

And to what Nebsif said, Every Map has a place to use a grappling hook.

(I'm so very deep... in words...)

nah i want more ropes for the masses. always fun to use, so don't limit fun just for the sake of it.

Ropes are a metaphor for getting yourself up the Y axis, for example, a person can climb a bf2 soldier can not, a soldier can just smash the doors and get on a higher level in a house, a BF2 soldier can not do that unless the house is designed to get in.

My opinnions don't make them requestable! Some people would just start griefing them leaving suads that realy need some help whit roofs

Pointless. Good Suggestion, but either way the rope is a rope. I'm sure you could even make a make-shift rope if you had to.

I don't understand why people think the kit is useless. Everymap has doors that need breached or buildings that can be climbed. So what if it doesn't have a super leet scope or super spam grenades...learn to use a red dot.

This^^ And first the grenadier sights was changed so everyone can 1337 them, don't even think about doing that to the hook.

The hook is also to symbolize other equipment soldiers carry, like ladders (used by british troops in building assaults) which can be used faster than a rope could be.

IMHO the rope is fine, needs no change.

Come on guys, i mean in real life you would'nt see grapples in *every* squad....i would like them to become limited kits if you ask me.

No but IRL you can climb over a 10 foot wall with 2 people and you dont need a rope.

I'm sure the soldier TRAIN with weights in their backs so they can climb ropes very well.

Mainly the specialists.
