Starting off with a question :)

Hello there.

I'm not new to the BF series, but I certainly am new to PR. From the videos and reviews Ive read, this mod simply looks awesome. I can't wait to play it and I hope to become a part of your vast gaming community on these forums :D .

So, anyway, back to my question. I haven't played a great deal of BF2 and obviously have never played PR before and its been mainly due to school and the lack of an adequate computer. And that's where my question comes in. Is it possible to run Project Reality on a laptop? For the past 5 years I've played PC games, I've always played on a laptop, albeit more of a family one than a gaming one. That 3 year old Dell I have now definitely wouldn't handle PR, but I'm getting a new laptop for college and was wondering if laptops that can run PR exist, how much they would cost, and if there are any specific models/brands that I should look for. I am not considering desktops.

Thanks!

sure you can run on a laptop, but like any computer it has to meet certain hardware specs.

I've played on my laptop a few times without trouble

Post up what kind of hardware you are using and we'll take a look :)

I have a laptop, and I know a good number of other PR players do as well, and there's no real problem.
The only real disadvantage is that you can't have the effects up to maximum most of the time, but on the other hand, you do have a computer that allows you to play PR anywhere, instead of just on your desk.

But anyway, that's for a "Laptops vs Desktops" thread. 8-)

Welcome to Project Reality, too!

Yay!

So, what are the usual price ranges for a decent gaming laptop? Like mentioned, I am also fine with playing on medium settings. Are there certain models and brands I should look for?
