Hi guys, I'm finding alot lately that people are having trouble hearing when in tanks, near tanks, in choppers or near choppers.

There is a simple fix for this.

Turn your BF2 effects Volume down in your audio options.

mine is at 30%

"But Rudd, I won't be able to hear the l33t ninja sneaking up on me?!!!"

ah ha! but you will because you will also turn your computer's master volume up! Thus making all sounds louder.

RESULT - Your game is at the same volume as before, but your VOIP and 3rd party VOIP applications are louder!

my computer master volume AND effects volume are already set at max and i've been used to having super footstep-hearing abilities for many updates now

ingame voip and TS are loud enough, but Mumble is too soft when a player or i am in a heli

i always catch the ninjas and put a burst in their faces before they slit my throat.

Haeving the same problem not hearing those mountain lions and bear's sneaking up on me. Any possibility the devs could set these volumes max volume higher? :P

Even with vbf2 at 15% and mumble at 200%, I still can't hear anyone when I'm in an APC. I just stick to default settings and pretend its more realistic that way :P

Well, I normally stick with the default settings since my ears hurt already from the odd SM with a terrible mic.

I have the same issue in PR with VOIP when im in tanks helis etc.
I though in vBF2 when you use VOIP it drops the game effects volume by 10% or so then it gose back up full when you stop using VOIP. Is this turned off for PR.

no it's not but it appears this volume down thing does only work sometimes.

Never had any issues with in-game VOIP but I often find that I have difficulty with mumble due to the combined factors of people not knowing quite how far away they can be heard from and the fact that it does not lower the in-game effects when someone is speaking.

I do love being able to have the effects really loud though, can be very intense with explosions going off in your ears.

Rudd. You know, you should setup a course some day going through all the stuff you need for PR:

BF2 original Disk.

1.41 Patch
1.5 Patch

PR levels.
PR core.

Mumble
Bug fixing.

PBSVC

And last but not least the sound option :P

But yeah, i have mine on 30 aswell, Doesnt fix the md5 failure though.

Mines at 5%, can still hear being shot at but can hear VOIP/Mumble much easier.

windows 7 ultimate 64bit + realtek = problems. Had some sound issues lately, for example my voip isnt working sometimes, sound changes its options by itself, sometimes in game sound just dissapears, then gets back on and similar stuff like that. But i play on highest sound settings, so i could hear stuff that goes on in US carrier in Muttrah! :D

I trust the game sounds more than team mates, so I keep it at 100%, haven't got issues with hearing people over VoIP.
tbh everyone should just set up their VoIP transmit to 100% and receive to 60-75%, different set ups end up in having to either lower mine cos someone has them too high and they bleed my ears, or setting them to max cos someone is at 20%..
