this is not really a suggestion, for I can only guess how much work it would be to make a Refractor Engine internal port of PR from BF2 to BF Online. So, it is mere a information for the PR development team.
It seems that a korean company has upgraded the Refractor engine to be able to use more than 100 players.
From Wikipedia:
Battlefield Online (Korean: 배틀필드 온라인 is a free online First Person Shooter developed by Neowiz Games, Electronic Arts and EA Digital Illusions CE, and distributed by Neowiz Games.[1] It is a remake of Battlefield 2. However, its game engine is not Battlefield 2's one, but Battlefield 2142's modified Refractor Engine 2, with graphic-improvements over Battlefield 2.[2] It is being developed by Neowiz Games of South Korea with oversight from license-holder Electronic Arts. Having started its 2nd beta test, Battlefield Online unlike Battlefield 2 has shown support for 100 player battles.[3] Its open beta test will be launched in the latter half of 2009.

Most games offer some sort of downloadable copy and ordering from asia isn't that much of a big deal. Its "online" thingy so it probably offers downloadable copies. Thing is, is it moddable. If it allows mods and it takes same code with minor changes as BF2, could be cool to move PR there. 100 Players people, 100!

100 players would be nice.
but maybe daydreaming.
pr`s little problem is (imo) that we dont have enough players.
i think that it is good examble in pr when squad makes outpost and add those 50 cals, wires and staff and then left the area.
its very rare that someone stays to defend but you need to go to next objective.
but....that online thing looked stupid.

WOW my intrepation..... Crapy Bf2 with more noobs and better graphics ... if PR can get it to work for western civilization.
Perhaps the Devs could get a license to create PR online a modification to the korean version. but in english. or what ever language you speek.
maps would have to be alot larger to incoorporate 100 players.. like a 9k map 3X3k... that would shurley fix the debate on new engine for PR. excpet the down side is everything would have to be recreated. all objects Buing statics maps vehicles weapons players.... mabey its not the best idea

Oh my god. your not thinking of putting PR with that "Battlefield online".....are you? its worse than Battlefield Heroes!
Seriously, that game looks like utter **** except for the bit about 100 players.

I don't understand why they just took MEC and put the Russian flag on it, seems so pointless and dodgy.
BF2142's graphics aren't much different to BF2's, not worth changing engines for.
I would of expected for such a tacky, blatant resale of a 4-5 year old game that they'd just stick to basics and not spend unnecessary time/effort/budget changing the HUD.
100 players does sound nice, but I doubt PR will get that unless they buy a license too.
I remember seeing a very similar style Asian ripoff of CS that had persistent stats/unlocks.

Its nice in a controlled enviroment not in Vanilla BF2
And since this is a Korean game in the end of the day it will be downgraded so no mods or anything

Was the L85A1(or 2?) in the original vBF2? I noticed it in that video.

It's funny how people complain now that we don't have enough players per side to properly man every assets and base defenses, etc in a realistic manner. Now, given an addition 40 players, you think we need to go even bigger? Or am i misreading your post and you're talking about vbf2 maps needing to be bigger?
And assuming it's based on the same engine, you should be able to move over any objects like vehicles, buildings, weapons, etc, quiet easily. Especially since i'm sure the DEVs have most of the original files also. (The files from before its imported to bf2)
