That sounds good. Having to switch to the clacker would hopefully prevent more ******** throwing a clay down at their feet as I'm shooting them just for a cheap desperation kill.

The claymores are o.k. for now w/me but I wouldn't mind getting the clackers for them either. The way claymores now are deadly - which is nice along with the fact that you can't really spam them. It's just that most of the time, your teammates have a hard time telling if it's a roadmine X Skull or a C4 X Skull so they get close to it and they die. - then the noobs punish you! Clackers can prevent that. It might be good too, for rigging vehicles/stairwells and such

Definately should be included. I'd love to spring traps with em.

Hate to ruin your fantasy but you can rig a claymore to explode when somebody passes infront of it with the use of pressure trip switches instead of trip wires. It takes a little time to set up but is effective. Also they can be triggered manually with a nice and long piece of wire.

I think whilst on the subject, the lethality radius should be checked and increased to ~40-50 metres.

That would kill just about all playability.

longer blast radus and clackers, id like to see that. if the wasnt so destructive maybe that would balance things, as most people use them to block stairs and next to corners. they tend to be a annoyance rather than a tactical asset.

I use them mainly after blowing a bridge to hinder the repair together with some carefully placed mines behind the bridge.

Enemy engineer runs up to bridge for repair > Boom !
Respawns , repairs , rushes over the bridge > Boom ! 8)

Also usefull to cover left or right when defending a flag on your own.
Although if flanked your killed anyhow. :(

I've just been banned from a PRMM server due to being the engineer class and the clan members on that server deliberately and stupidly walking and diriving over my gear. don't think I even lost one life before they banned me.

remote detination has to be the way like explosives, due to the actions of a lot of players i'm afraid.

Guess the main reason is most people turn of Flagpoints and stuff because it blocks the view and isn't "realistic"
That way you also don't see mines , claymores etc . . . . .

If the were not proximity detonated, would the engineer be able to diffuse them, in a tense hero like moment?

Thanks for stealing my idea, wolf ;) I don't know how many times an enemy has run through claymores and detonated them, and 5 seconds later an entire squad will run through. I would like to at least have the choice of clackers or a tripwire. (the latter would take time to set up and prepare)

we should have SAS ones basically an ice cream box with PE in the bottom and bits of mettal pushed in to the PE like bollets and ball bearings and other shiz.
