Hat kits on Insurgency

Wheres the sense in it? It really annoys me to see people on Al Basrah with hat kits, there is no need for it and you cant justify taking it especially when we have the challenger and the insurgency have nothing that is heavy enough for you to use it on. I've been seeing more and more of it lately and i just dont understand it. Its either they want the insurgency to get it or they are just plain stupid /rant

I don't see the point in the urban insurgency, but on Taliban maps the terrain often lends itself to the HAT, archer especially with the castle etc.

Yea archer is probably justifiable, basrah with the brits armour and the insurgencys well nothing is not. I dont know maybe its just me but whenever i see it on basrah it does my head in.

Its not necessary on an insurgency map tbh, the only map i can see an argument for is archer.

Is there a better way to take out BIGRED with one shot? or to kill those cheeky insurgents hiding in ambush inside a destructible building?

I love the HAT kit especially when its not against anything that could easily defend itself from it in any successful way. Its pure POWER in a tube.
Makes total sense too. Why risk sending in troops to clear a building that could be burnt out or destroyed from a safe distance?

Why risk losing an AT to enemy? For me the only use of HAT/Sniper kits on insurgency is for base defense.

What a **** point, how about getting the warrior or the challenger or one of the apc's on it? What about calling area attack in? What about growing a pair of balls and clearing it on foot? I dont see why not a rifleman is sufficiently equipped to do so.
Edit: Clearing it on foot with your squad is more satisfying too :)

half the time people in vehicles arnt watching the chat or just focus in on killing things or just dont speak the same language as you or just dont care so they wont come to your help when you ask for it. and going in oh foot could put you up against some guy with a shotgun which makes your chances of survival not very good. plus you would have to run from where ever you are which is likely to be far away and that will increase your chances of getting dead aswell, not to mention you will be leaving your squad or making them all come with and all face the extra chances of getting dead. i have seen the HAT work for the good of the team way more times then it has worked poorly for the team.

Given that kits don't last on the ground for very long its not really much of a problem. Thats assuming whoever takes the HAT on your team isnt a totally fool and knows to keep their distance from insurgents. Yeah, it can be bad if it falls into insurgent hands, but realistically the armor on basrah isn't that useful anyhow. Yes, they get lots of kills, but they are totally incapable of taking out a cache. I've seen all the armor on basrah camping refinery, and it still took the brits half an hour or more to destroy the two caches my team had their. I don't worry about protecting the stupid armor as much as enhancing the infantry's combat effectiveness, and the HAT kit can be very useful in some situations, and as long as its user is even slightly careful, it will not fall into enemy hands.

The coalition advantage is the ability to engage targets at a much longer range than the insurgents. Why would you give that up? Also, you can't talk about "growing a pair", it's a videogame, not a way of proving your manhood.

While it may be fun for you to clear a building on foot with your m16, I will rather clear it at a distance with a HAT any day.

Its a way some people mark their territorry. They know they are not supposed to do it, they know its stoopid, they know there is not sense in taking it, they know it will piss most who realize it off, but they do it anyway to just to be punk. It is the punk look of project reality :p .
Can somebody edit real quick an rocket launcher wielding punk ?

I have more fun with them on insurgent maps than any other, I dont run around with them of course but I will use them to defend a FOB or like someone said the castle on Archer etc..
