As you may remember in my other topic, "Did you know", i made a little calculation with version release dates. For those who don't want to click the link, here's a quote.
Release Dates
Release Dates
- Did you know it has been 1515 days since 0.1 Mini-mod PR has been released?
- ...That there has been 111 days between 0.1 and 0.2
- ...That there has been 121 days between 0.2 and 0.25
- ...That there has been 75 days between 0.25 and 0.3
- ...That there has been 184 days between 0.3 and 0.4
- ...That there has been 90 days between 0.4 and 0.5
- ...That there has been 158 days between 0.5 and 0.6
- ...That there has been 167 days between 0.6 and 0.7
- ...That there has been 76 days between 0.7 and 0.75
- ...That there has been 166 days between 0.75 and 0.8
- ...That there has been 147 days between 0.8 and 0.85
- ...That there has been 147 days between 0.85 and 0.86
- ...Thats an average of 131 days between each release
- ...that i probably / most likely did a miscalculation somewhere
131 days means 18 weeks. (or 18 weekends, you know, when you have the time to play :p )
18 weeks means 4,5 months
4,5 months means 0,3 year.
So basically there are 3 new versions every year. But how long after a new release do you want for the next release?

well i like the new stuff so often updates with new toys would be awesome

but for major gameplay changes i'd like some time between them

might sound odd but thats what would suit me :D
though i'd like to have my PC with me to play, but my degree would suffer

Especially for major gameplay updates, I like playing them for a while. But seeing new ideas on the forum and seeing problems ingame makes me want new changes. 18 weeks is pretty good.

Depends on the version.

I love this mod so much that I've been satisfied with each release indefinitely for the past year and a half or so. New releases are just icing on the cake for me :)

When news about the next version start to poup-up I get start to get bored with the actual version. How can I play PR 0.876 knowing that it doesn't have Sagin ?

About three months. i think the curren release rate is decent. I'd like to get some more info though on what i can expect in new versions. I know of one player suggestion that made it into the game (helicopter damage system) but there's never really a hint inside suggestion threads or change logs what has been suggested by players.
I'd like to know what brilliant game change came from a suggestion made by a player :)

I remember in America's Army, people were happy with the new version for 2 days...after that it was all about: "When is the next patch?"

good times, good times :p
