With the release of MW2 and upcoming releases of PR 0.9 and BC2, I have decided to upgrade.
I am set on buying an Asus G51J-A1 but the core leaves me doubts.

Pros
-Hyperthreading
-Core 2 Quad
-i7

Cons
-1.6Ghz

IMO, That's a big con.
My question is, Is it worth it?

Over the G51Vx, it's competitor for buying rights, the G51J is a much better computer but the core...

My question is, Is it worth it?

In short no, BF2 will only use one core and has a minimum specs of 1.7 Ghz so that might be painful, plus PR's bigger requirements make that sound doubtful.

I just sold my 2.0 Ghz dual core laptop because despite being dual core it was just to slow to run modern games.
The fact that this is quad core will help a bit, but really i wouldn't recommend it

It's an i7 mobile core processor (720 to be precise) and with Turbo mode that thing clocks itself up to 2.8Ghz when under load.

This article will put to rest any doubts you have regarding the mobile range of i7 CPUs.
