[Ambiance] AI Jet flybys on maps.

Again based off of the USI Mod Update
here, how about some real ambiance for a change especially on Korengal when some jet flys by.
I realize you probably cant and wont make actual lightning for Ghost Train but now its out there.
PR is without a doubt a huge download, however I sometimes find myself creating a lan game and turning up the sound while I do homework just to relax a little. This I believe would be worth the extra 18 gigs

of download.

You know, i wasn't really sure.
Are PR DEV's and USI Dev's interchangeable?
And thank you for making Ghost Train, that is one hell of a map.

well all the mods in BSS work pretty closely together thou USI and PR's devs are pretty interlocked, we help each other our a lot since we are quite similar with the assets we both use, just mainly the gameplay and setting is quite different but Guedoe dose a lot of exporting work for us etc too, now and again we help them out with UVing, skinning etc. We recently finished UVing there OH-58D cockpit and with any luck should be skinning it soon for them for example.
Cheers, Op Ghost Train dose actually have a lightning strike on it last time I checked (unless the editor deleted it again!) but its hard to see with all the trees in the way etc.

Well the lightning strike comes at different times for different players, doesn't it?
If I am mistaken, please let me know, I am still working on PR movie and real lightning would looking amazing on camera and especially in game. Plus it helps when you want to set a mood and make everyone scared or jumbled up both in the movie and at home.
Ambiance (see we aren't off topic), its what makes a good game great.

don't think so, the map makes the noise basiclly not the player, like a humvee is basicly a map noise so is lightning etc.
oh and no it wouldn't be worth another 18 gigs
its not even that big anyway, why do you want to waste space on backround scene when you hardly notice it anyway?

The Korengal Jet doesn't sound off simultaneously for all players and I believe that is the same case on Ghost Train with the lightning. I figured this out when My squad mate said that "the jet on Korengal is awesome." I didn't hear a damn thing when he said it and he asked me and my other squad mates If we could hear it as well. We did, just not at the same time.
If there is lightning on Ghost Train, and makes noise the same way a Humvee does (Everyone hears it simultaneously), then I would love to know where it is so I can film it.

Back on topic:
It'd be a pretty hard thing to do tbh. AI in BF2 is pretty damn stupid, and the chance of it using aircraft and keeping it up the whole round for Ambiance would be pretty impossible. If you know how AI works in BF2 you know that AI cannot land, TKs a awful lot in aircraft, has no true aim, and when out of ammunition they sometime just fly into the ground. -20 points.

I kid I kid, anyway, did you see the DEV smile? Granted it wasn't a DEV wink, I think it still counts. Besides they don't have to land and they spawn in mid air and fly around like the beasts they are, giving the US/GB an Air Superiority Complex.

Can someone tell me if it has the same or similar flight characteristics as the LB?

I'm pretty sure there just as agile. But according to Wikipedia, it is slower, while the Kiowa Warrior's maximum speed is 149 MPH, the MH-6 is capable of 175. But don't worry, in game the Littlebird's speed is horribly dipicted. As is all helicopters in PR, the Huey's max is 135, yet it is one of the fastest Heli's. The Blackhawk on the other hand can do 180 IRL, but in game it does somewhere above half of the Huey.

If you add AI for ambience effects you will loose a player slot.
PRSP Ghost-train did have the lightning but IIRC it was taken out due to a lot of players lagging due to system loading.

I dont think so, but im not 100%
I thought it was simply a jet model scripted to fly over and bomb said areas, the same way the UAV works (sorf of). No NPC's needed.

ye pretty much, there isn't actually anything flying its just on a scripted path more or less and doesn't need to bomb anything
