to make it realistic mabey when u respawn u become a civilian heres what they could be...

Random so that not eveyones a cop:

Police: Pistol with low or no body armor

Lady or Man: Can throw rocks and stuff

News reporter: Blue like war outfit has a pistol

This can be chosen: News Camra man: has the same as above but has a camera that can actualy record

Just an idea to make it real

Oh and when u die as a civilion you can come back to the military side maby?

And this is to make it a little more fun you know? not just having to wait till the end of the map or round..

I think that will be a little too much, after all it is a military game.

I like the idea but that would be hard to make it work. I think that if the cities in the game were populated by NPCs it would work amazing in the fact that you could pick being a civilian, your gun would be low powered, but you would blend in with other civilians and be able to pick off soldiers. Seeing as how they are not populated a Civilian or a Camera Man would stick out like a sore thumb. Good idea though.

but npc, would put tons of straint on the server you would need a power full server (and expensive) to run all these npcs. also the coding for a mod, or real game would take a good year to make sure they dont walk through walls and such good idea but bad for realistic use

Yes thats what I Was saying. The AI coding would take a very long while once it was out it would be good, it would take to long to make it worth while.

And if its not it will take a bloody long time!

Not to mention most of the time you choose spectate mode is because you can not/ dont want to be ingame.

does this mean we are only going on 1 life per round here? that would not be good imo, one of the great things about bf is that you can always respawn. i think a better solution than only haveing 1 life would be having a few, or getting more as your score progresses

like, you start with 5 lifes, and when your score passes a certain point you get more lives. of course that is a guess and would require extensive game testing to make work, but i hope that this mod is not going for a 1 life system.

my opinion on civillians... maybe nice fora movie or mini mod or something, but it is wayyy to hard to make people that run around that you can't shoot, and it would require role playing (something bf players do not do ever) the civillian character if you could spawn into the game as a civie.

role playing? how so? they would just be there to watch....do anything rather....like throwing rocks at the opposition lol i mean its just spectating

oh and why would(Civilians) be not included in a military game? it would just make it more realistic.....if u think civilians arnt in the middle of combat...then u my friend need to watch the news

When u see a house blow up to king dumb come i dont think there are gonna go to the park to play foot ball with timmy.

#1.civilains wouldnt be throwing rocks they would haul some big as$ and get out of town.
#2.usaully when war would break out in a country they would evacuate the people out of the town/city as fast as possible to reduce loss of life.

i agree with everyone...everyone has good ideas! i just wish all these thing could be put in....i think (as BF2 is losing all its key features {HALO 2 anyone?}) that this reality mod will make BF2 what it was meant to be...i mean i dont want a game that where u dont have any fun...right? i mean whats the fun in dieing right wehn u step outside at the beginning and will have to wait for the whole game to end(round/match whatever) i like the idea of reality all the way just it would suck to be that nobody soldier who gets shot in Baisic

I think having just civillian bots running around would be very very good, however it may affect gameplay - ie MASS LAG ??

yea but its not like every single civi is gonna be in the a city/map alot of them either run or stay in the house and stay put.

Maybe you could just take only the cameraman and without a gun? Might be a way of realistic implication of the BF2 recording possibility. Like a war reporter? I'm not a coder so i dont know if it's codable but might be nice...

I really don't like this idea. Come on, it is a military game, you buy it to play soldiers not civilians...
