Hey all, as you probably know I just moved to the USA, and so had to build a new PC.
I went with newegg.com and got the following:

Windows 7 64 OEM
Coolermaster HAF 932
Intel Core i7-860 lynnfield 2.8ghz
corsair xms3 8gb ram (4x2gb)
samsung 7200rpm 1tb hdd
gigabyte ga-p55 motherboard
corsair 950w power supply

Wheres the GFX card you ask. Well, im going to most likely buy myself the radeon HD 5870, but I need some of your input here.
I have been hearing of some FPS issues with the 5870 and windows 7, so whos using one and how does it work for you?

thanks

Ash

Where do you need a 950W PSU for?

Im hoping to go up to 16gb of ram with two 5870s and water cooling in a few months, so I figured better safe than sorry.
Do you have a 5870?

Nope, I don't got a 5870.

Even with a 5870 in CF, a 950W PSU is overkill. If you look here (it's in Dutch, but I'll explain) the HD 5870 in CF with a Core i7 965 and 3GB RAM uses 353W max. That's not so much different from your system, so you won't need a PSU which delivers almost triple the amount of power. It's just a waste of money, such a PSU. ;)

5770's in Xfire seem to be pretty church.
