I'm just telling it as it is before someone starts thinking they can use them as a shortcut...arjan wrote:ah c'mon lets keep friendly lol![]()
Fair use is an overused excuse. A friend of mine tried to argue that pirating Windows 7 was fair use as it was for "educational purposes"AquaticPenguin wrote:"Do Not license, sell, or redistribute the whole or parts of the 3d model above without author's written permission and this website reference weblink below. However, you may use the model for any (commercial or not) video or picture rendering production."
"You may use this model on you website for recommendation and education purposes only by placing one of mandatory reference links below. You may use the model for any video or image rendering production. Email us if you have any questions. "
"All presented 3d models are created and copyrighted by their original author, not this website, unless mentioned otherwise, and are free for personal and non-commercial use. You might use a limited amount of digital media on you website for educational, recommendation, and demonstration purposes only by including a mandatory reference link below."
From the website under each of the pictures of the models, the "do not redistribute" bit basically cuts out any chance of using the model in PR. They could be used for research purpose for making better models but most free models are pretty **** in that department anyway. It is important to differentiate between "free as in beer" and "free as in speech", and with all of these models it appears that the copyright remains with the author.
"Now, I DID NOT CREATE THESE, i do not take credit for these models. (It's not plagiarism to show someone elses models as long as u dont tell that theyre yours, right?)"
Copyright has a fair use clause iirc and I think this would fall under that.
