Are the Butt kissers in the forums changing the gameplay in new releases?

Before you lock this thread please read on. This is not criticism of the game, which I know is not appreciated or accepted here, but merely a question of how the influence of the "POSITIVE PRAISERS" on the forums effect the decisions the developers make regarding the changes they make in the game.
This is ONLY an example:
PR: "you now only have one bullet per game"
POSITIVE PRAISERS: "Oh wow! That's a great idea! What an epic change!"
PR:"you now have to spawn at main every time you die"
POSITIVE PRAISERS: "Wow! That's genius!! I love the change you made!!"
PR:"No more rally points"
POSITIVE PRAISERS: "Yes!!! We hate rally points! They are too gamy. This is such an awesome change! Good job!!!!"
I've been playing for several years and have been reading the forums at least 5 times a week. I haven't made many posts, but I believe that this one is an important one to make.
Does anyone, other than the usual butt kissers, think this was due? -- I mean those who have been playing since .7 and before.

the DEVs have always maintained that they will only make a game they want to play, but I have seen numerous examples where ideas and opinions of the wider community have affected PR's gameplay/development.
Especially from those who have contributed to the mod with efforts of their own, be it technical skill or community building.
I think you're being harsh.
I don't like alot of decisions made by the PR DEVs, such as removing Brits/tanks from Al Kufrah and replacing it with APC Vs APC combat, or removing 50cal jeeps from most AAS maps. But alot of people actually prefer it for their own reasons. They aren't *** kissing if they truely like the changes.

Amen. Its about time someone spoke up. As an avid squad leader i have noticed an alarming trend. In the beta servers, i cant seem to keep a squad together for the entire game. I am one of the only squads setting fire bases, witch isn't fun for most, and they leave. My squad gets broken up, and the server empties out because people don't want to spawn at main. Ive been playing since .7 and will try to continue, in spite of the butt kissers.

just because you dont like something and some one dose, dose not mean they are a "butt kisser".

...that's why they are always fighting over who's going to be commander.
I appreciate the input, but do you understand what I am getting at? I remember when .8 came out and there were people praising the 2 second scope time. We don't have that anymore... would it have been different if everyone would have been honest about it immediately?

First let me say: EDIT "how about not"
Second, the game is in constant development -- the testing team is not large or active enough to test out broader game play changes effectively, hence the 0.87X releases. This allows the whole community to test the ideas and provide feedback. It's possible that all of these tweaks will not be featured in 0.9, but it's also possible that they will have a positive effect on gameplay and will be permanently implemented.

I'm not trying to start a fight or complain about the game. I love this game and spread "The Word of PR" every chance I get whether it be my PR videos on youtube or yahoo answers. I just really think this needs to be brought up. Does anyone read the in-game chat during games? I'm sure there are more than just a few people who agree with me.

My post was not intended to reference changes 0.87x only the influence of certain people in the forums. This has gotten off on a tangent.
Sorry if I have offended anyone here. It wasn't my intention. Please don't ban me. If I need to revert to nothing more than positive praise on the forums I will. Just let me know.

So, you believe that people are lying about liking features? For what reason? Why would someone purposely sabotage a game that they play, by supporting features they don't personally like?
And do you have any real proof of this conspiracy?

calling people butt kissers is considered insulting, you can revert to being polite and respectful of other forum users at your leisure.

Well I suppose the issue here is really that we haven't tested it out to see if it is really fun. If we slog it out and post AAR after AAR, then we'd probably be far more decisive (or is it indecisive?) about what changes to keep, and which to ditch.
Not buttkissing, seems more like we haven't all thought through the ideas thoroughly. I think that once we have the necessary information, we can make an educated decision.

I don't think any single non-DEV has much influence at all. I have no more influence on game play changes than you.
The great thing about a forum (a public meeting or assembly for open discussion) is that it allows for discussion regarding potential changes. If the DEVs weren't interested in everyone's opinions, they would ban all of us and just make decisions within the team itself (See For-Profit Game Development.)
Lastly, I certainly don't have the power to ban people (nor would I wield such power gracefully) -- I just found it interesting that two long-time lurkers from Kansas City appeared at the same time in the same thread with the same opinion and vocabulary.

I hope your comments regarding lurking and Kansas City are not an indirect association between our city and the color of our skin. Kansas City has a large minority population . Just because we "share the same opinion and vocabulary" don't mean we shouldn't be heard or we are not individuals. I fought a long time for my voice to be heard. Guess we boys go back in side and not asks any mo questions. Ask around...our names are known.

lurker is a term for a person who observes internet forums etc without making themselves overtly known, its not necessarily an insult, and it has nothing to do with ethniticity.

As someone who has been playing since .6, I don't understand how playing PR longer makes your opinion more valuable. Obviously it doesn't effect the decisions the DEVs make about the game anyhow. The DEVs have made lots of changes that people didn't want, I doubt they will suddenly start following public opinion just because it's going for them this time.
