Hey all. It's that time around christmas where people start making their wish list. Because i'm getting older, i have less and less things i actually want. One of them is a new graphics card. I'm also asking for a 4GB ram stick but i already have a link.
Right now, my system specs are:

Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 @2.00GHz 2.00 GHz
Remory (ram [maybe it will be increased]) 2GB
32-bit Operating System
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce8500 GT

I can run PR on medium/ high settings with x8 antialysing right an average FPS rate of ~35-45, up into 50s in some parts of some maps.

Anyone have a graphics card they want to recommend?

GPU wise I would hold your money until the new 58xx are out or at least cheaper + new Nvida range out soon.

But overall I would put money towards a new pc, a high-end GPU is going to be bottle-necked by your CPU.

Well, a new graphics card isn't exactly at the top of my list; i just was thinking of getting a new one. It doesn't have to be the top of the line.

If you gonna increase ram capacity to 4, it will not work, only 3.3 will work in 32bit system. So if you want more than 3.3gb ram, get new operational system. Buying it is very expensive, downloading it is very dangerous in US, so i dont know.

Try to save up more money for a new CPU and GPU. A new GPU will be a waste of money, because the CPU will bottleneck it. And vice versa, of course.

Well, you can get more from a mid-range card than you are getting now with your current GPU.

@ The RAM point. having 3.3 is better than having 2. You will notice a small difference.

I would look towards these cards. Or of similar price/range.

well, i do give my video card less credit than it deserves, but i'll look into it.
