Whether i play BF2 or PR i load up the match and spawn for the first time i get booted by punkbuster and the error says

Restriction: Service Communication Failure PnkBstA.exe

what is this and can i fix it?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

AMD Phenom II x4 820 Processor 2800Mhz

Same thing happened to me yesterday.
I reinstalled my anti-virus software (norton 360) and then it worked.

I've had this problem for a long time now, only mine was with punkbuster B.

I looked at the PB site to see if I could just reinstall it, nope. I downloaded their PB Services program, didn't work either. And I have even installed a whole new AV program.

Basically, the first time I load up PR or any BF2 mod I just join a random server, let it dump me, then proceed to joining my intended play server. I never have issues with it after that.


If someone does find a solution, I'd love to hear it.
