Point Whoring/Allocation

Reduce the points given for building a firebase and increase points given for assisted kills, asset destruction and objective capture.

e.g if you kill an enemy and your sqaud members are in radius you all get points

Should help reduce pointless FOB builds for points especially with the removing of rallies and increase sqaud cohesion.

Fobs should give points to the squad that built it based on how many soldiers spawn on them and kills made while in the FOB radius. Its an old discussion though. Points are so silly anyway, they never represent true value. What about the logistics squad that delivers the crates? They should get something. Transport chopper pilots who are succesfull should get more points as well, doing insertions the whole round withouth being shot down takes skill.

Just remove points, so people play for the game and the team...if you want kills/points go play COD4 and further...

In general the best squads are always those getting most points, rather then player points why not only show the squad score?

Either way, its gonna be very hard for anyone to make an opninion about this, since the use of FOBs might just increase drasticly if they pass on the stuff in the betatesting atm :)

They make you look cooler :) it's nice to know about your accomplishments but they shouldnt be padded

Building spawnpoints for your team is extremely important, that's why its rewarded with lots of points. I think it's a fine system, I wouldn't change a thing.

Although I don't play this game to get big scores I likw to look at the scoreboard to see how I'm doing. The thing that is annoying sometimes is that the squad that runs around wasting all the logi trucks deploying FBs in stupid spots and then dieing gets more points than my squad who haven't built any FBs because we have been busy fighting and reviveing. So I wouldn't mind combat or transport scores to be raised a bit and building scores lowered but it isn't a big deal to me.

well said, however that just made a paradox...anyways i agree remove individual points all together and dont bother implementing squad points, make it all team points. i rarely ever check my score now anyways.

Negative :-)

While you may think some FOB are pointless they are the driving force for PR. Being that we reward team related assets construction above individual goals. Sure sometimes there are FOB placed just for points but like holding a favorable position with a SAW those going for point will find a way.

Asset destruction and objective capture could be giving more points but I believe that ideas are in the works but have yet to surface.

Just a FYI team points as a whole will always be above individual points

I dunno, wouldn't fire bases even more important after 0.9 comes out? since the RP wouldn't be the main spawn.
But I agree with abolishing the point system :)
and the assisted kills, I actually quite like that idea!

Pfffff all you party poopers. Who cares if points don't mean much most of the time. Sometimes they really do! And they're fun to have and don't really get in the way.

You can use points to confirm kills.

Really, just leave in negative points and that's all.

^^ I would like to see the delay after killing someone much longer. I use the scorebord all the time to verify kills, it kinda feels like cheating. If I dont get a kill score after a minute or so I know there is a an enemy medic around, and probably other soldiers as well, so then I wait behind cover until they show up and kill them.

Some servers have the scores off, leave it up to each server, I am not a points whore, but I must admit I get happy when I'm up there (as medic with 0 kills).

take scorelist away.
in the end of the round,show the the best teamwork squads and their points.
so if you wanna see your stats,do teamwork and do it well.

It would be cool to have it so FOBs dont give you many points to start with but give you points for the number of people that spawn and live for more than 1 minute.
