Using a mic chrashes the game.

First of all, best mod of all time, only closely followed by Rome's europa barbarorum.
Ok so, when ever i start the game with a mic plugged it, be it a USB mic or a regular mic and i either join a game or go to options and select audio the game crashes to desktop without giving a error.
bf2voicesetup.exe also crashes.
I'm using Vista, my mics work on my xp pc but that's a really old pc, is there any way i can fix it on my vista pc?

Thats weird lol, run pr as an administrator nd see if that works.

Reinstal, Run as Administrator, Compatibility Mode (Windows XP (Service Pack 2))...
And this should be posted on Technical Support, since this is not a bug.

My bad, can a mod please move the topic?
Also the service pack 2 solution did not work, it's still crashing.

It really sounds like a corrupted file.
If you haven't reinstalled, do it.
Now... I've just googled your problem and this solution came up (second post from
BF2VoiceSetup.exe Error - Tactical Gamer)
OK, well, weird solution to this. I got to reading some posts on PlanetBattlefield 2 and one suggestion I saw a couple of times was to run VOIP Setup a second time, move the sliders a bit, get the error and then try it in-game.
As weird as it sounds that seems to have done it. I need to tweak a bit but I just jumped into POE long enough to get a comm check and it was good.
I won't question it, I'll just be happy my problem is solved.
Other words, re-setup the VOIP and see if that works?

Wow i actually fixed it, i noticed in the windows sound settings that there were allot of input's activated, "virtual audio cabel (wdm)" they were called.
So i turned them all off except my USB mic, and it works now no more crashes!
Now i can finally play this game to it's fullest!

Welcome to the forums, and make sure you read the rules (which I KNOW you skipped.) It's pretty easy to get an infraction or ban in here.
