Helicopters "stick" on Take-off

Ello mates,

Got myself a bit of a problem thats been persisting the past couple weeks that I've decided I wish to bring forth and address. I'm fairly new to PR, only about a month of playing tops so far, and let me say, it has been a wonderfully fantastic experience, but its being poked at by my helicopter issue. About 9 out of 10 times when I enter in *any* helicopter, after letting it warm up 30 seconds, 45 seconds, or even a minute just to check, the chopper resists my command to lift into the air.

Every time I get the chopper warmed up (with or without touching any controls), I try to lift off but I simply don't move from the spot (regardless of the fact that it says I'm using 100% power). If I try to hold it there, the chopper slowly starts to tip to one side and I can correct it but deaccelling, but it just becomes a cycle of not lifting off, beginning to tip, and me correcting the list.

I wanted to see what would happen if I "fell" into the air so I loaded up Muttrah City, got a chopper up to speed on the carrier, and started to slide over to the edge of the ship. Once I fall off the edge, I cannot maintain much control but instead of instantly dropping into the water, if I can maintain SOME control, I more or less sink as if the chopper isn't using enough power to keep itself aloft. I can't figure this out for the life of me and I don't understand why it will work that one random time out of many, any thoughts? Thanks!

Justin

I get the same problem using my joystick but I found a little tip that might help you 2.
Once the chopper has warmed up, push your throttle all the way up and when it gets to 100% immediatly push your throttle all the way down again to 0%
And then you should be able to take off again normaly with no problem.

I'll have to give that a shot once I get back to my dorm later today. I did some random tests last night and ruled out various issues such as the mod build (tried on .874 and .874D with no difference in the issue), heli type, and maps. I did find that inching my way forward until the tail lifts up a bit, backing off the throttle, and trying to lift off again gives me positive results usually (Much like your suggestion Mike). As of now I do consider this unsolved but I have a workaround due to a higher success rate with that series of actions.

One other thing I noticed was that my overall torque once in flight seemed about half from usual. Gaining altitude was unbelievably slow, same with my horizontal speed, very very slow compared to normal. I found a fix for this also...once I land (as if dropping off a squad) and lift off again, its back to normal and I have full power again, very nimble and quick, is that normal? I don't recall that being the norm but it may very well be true. I'll keep plugging away at this and post if I find a fix. Thanks!
