Licensed Game Developer looking at PR?

Hello
I played PR for awhile in late 2008 early 2009 since then I have been developing games and in college. I have a indie Unreal Engine 3 license and a Gamespy Networking Middleware license for multiplayer. I am here to see if PR would want to work on a full PR game using Unreal Engine 3.I would love to hear from to PR developers and the community on their thoughts on it maybe.

Welcome to the forums again Hboybowen.
As folks will soon be telling you, the PR Development team is already in the early stages of development with Project Reality 2, which will be on the C4 engine. I doubt they'd be interested; as much as Unreal 3 is a great engine, you probably know better than anyone that engine shifts beyond the very beginning of development are a bad thing.
You're learning development, right? Why don't you come up with a vision for a game and start putting together resources to carry it out using the licenses you've got?

Hello and welcome to the forums, as people have already stated the DEV team has already begun development of PR2 on the C4 engine and are not likely to change their mind.

Or help out the PR2 team.

@Hboybowen: What kind of skills do you have? If you have a portfolio to link to or a quick CV we wouldn't mind looking at it. However that is all we can promise, to look at it. At least for now.

learning to use a engine is always simple if you know what your looking for. I use unrealscript in UE3 so C4 would be much easier for me to use I worked with Unity and Torque(didnt like at all) I mainly level design and model I can code but only unrealscript language atm so to answer your question"shouldnt take no longer than a few hours to familiar myself with it
@z-trooper: well if im really not gonna be considered if I submit it I think ill just prefer not to due to having to but together some zbrush, maya, and concept art pics from my files.

Hboy, I should remind you that there is a 100% rejection rate for applications not submitted.
You never know, the PR2 team might be a great learning experience if you submit a portfolio and they like it! Then you might get to factor in later in the development process.
Also, I imagine putting together demo portfolios is a procedure you'll have to master at some point.

Let me maybe be a little blunt with you in the interests of clearing things up for you as best I can. C4 is basically an API. It will take a lot longer than a few hours to familiarise yourself with it, and it's not like working in an existing SDK or Mod Kit.
In short, if you're seriously interested in helping, put together a portfolio, collate a CV listing your experiences and ideally, some example work - and we'll take a look.
If all you're willing to say is you can script in unreal and therefore it'll only take 180 minutes to get to grips with C4 - then I'm afraid you really are incredibly unrealistic in your expectations.
Drop us a PM if you've had a look at the C4 site, had a play with the demo and example source code, and if you're still interested after that.
Regards,
Masaq.

I'd hate to break the tension with a knife, but are you really a person who is devoted to a game like this? Seeing you have such a small post count (All posts being in this thread) I'm having second thoughts about if you're for real or not.

To be honest Drunkenup, I don't think someone's post count directly affects how genuine they are in their intentions. For instance, I have less posts than you - but I've been a 'real' PR enthusiast since 2006 - honestly!
HboyBowen has stated his intentions and I doubt the PR2 Dev team would usher him into the secret PR2 room without a good deal of evidence to support his technical abilities - like any other job application.
Put your guns down sheriff... easy now...

Let us be the judge of that.
@Hboy: I can understand that you have doubts if you need to put together a portfolio, hell I've been trying to do that for over a year now. It is a nightmare for sure.
Lets have a quick and dirty dance here instead. (again no promises)
- What would you say is your best skill?
- I see you have worked with a few different engines now, have you been apart of any other teams or have made any games that we can try?
- You say you model, and you mention Zbrush too. Care to show a few of your best/most recent models and sculpts?
- Are you familiar with creating high poly geometry and baking it to low poly?
- Can you texture your own work? we'd like to see some recent/best examples
- (not too important) if you want we would like to see a few concepts/drawings
- (not important, but I'm curious) What are you studying?

I think that is the stuff I wanted to ask. No need to set it up too nice or anything. If you aren't comfortable with posting it in public please feel free to PM me.

* What would you say is your best skill?
Modeling
* I see you have worked with a few different engines now, have you been apart of any other teams or have made any games that we can try? Plenty but most online teams werent successful or completed I hang with a indie team who I met at a IGDA meeting here in the florida chapter.
* You say you model, and you mention Zbrush too. Care to show a few of your best/most recent models and sculpts?
Sure just some quick sketches i did in a few hours of a orc and dark elf for a fantasy FPS concept i have:

* Can you texture your own work? we'd like to see some recent/best examples
