Hey buddy, are you just dead or dead dead?

Theres been alot of talk and suggestions for "checking" or knowing if people are revivable or not, if the body you stomple opun is recent or not. Theres even been suggestions for a tool requireing another of the medics slots.
What about adding a sound of heavy breathing and hurting, like the sounds you get once you see black and white before youre completely wounded and incapacitated. So that nearby players will know whether its a wounded soldier or dead soldier, for both factions of the map ofcourse. Im not gonna say its simple, cus nothing really is with this engine, but it seems alot more simple than the recent suggestions.
Its realistic too. I know it could be useful if you were shot down in the jungle closequarter, and hostiles walk over you with your body hidden in the bushes. Its useful to be quiet sometimes if you wait for evac(the medic bag). But im sure in most cases, its almost impossible to stay quiet once youre wounded enough not to move at all.
If you want to make it complicated, you could make players be able to use fatigue to hold back the sound, if you want to make it complicated

I still think, if not HardCoded, the ressucitate thingy should only work on wounded bodies... anyways the wounded guy normally calls out "medic"... when I ask "are u dead or dead dead" is when I look at the squad screen and i'm not close to the guy that got shot down. Therefore tecnically this "tool" wouldn't be any useful when asking someone...
However more doesn't mean enough. Therefore, I agree with the cough and breathe noises, would be very cool, interesting and helpful on non-SMs cases without mumble.

Why heavy breathing? With sound of explosions and gunfire the heavy breathing will be drowned out by the louder sound. IMO someone should make lines like "Is anyone there...? Someone...I'm bleeding really bad *cough* Mom...is that you?".
Ahahaha That would be classic

If you were right next to someone in a battlefield and they were breathing heavily, you could hear it. And you would only be trying to revive someone while you were right next to them. I personally think the heavy breathing idea does have potential, but would need a little work.
Asking isn't always the best way as some people are foreign or just dont respond.

would be good if the CPR got that noise the epipen makes when you stab a dead guy, that would mean CPR would be used to find dead guys ingame, which would be the fastest way and most reliable since not everyone uses mumble.
Though it was awesome on EJOD last night when a critically wounded guy goes to me "mate, I'm revivable, could you get your medic over here"
my squads medic was dead, but a blue medic was 75m away, so I run over, and say "squad 2 medic follow me, we got guys down over here!"
he follows, we revive the guy who was in the 3rd squad, and we all live happily ever after.

Oh you were in galeknights squad I suppose. I joined in the end, after almost running you over with the BTR...
Thing is gazzthompson is that t3h only place I see mumble well used is on TG.

Yeah, Mumble isn't widely used enough to be used as something to shoot down suggestions, though the ultimite fix to this problem would be getting the community to use Mumble more. I do like the Rudd's suggestion of using CPR as a way of checking, it would give it a use besides bugfixing and would probably be doable.

well, why should dev impalement ways of doing things (mainly communicating with other players) when a fairly widely used 3rd party program dose it very well? .9 will come with mumble as part of download, hopefully more people will use it.

Just occured to me, that the heavy breathing and the sort from when youre "seeing black and white" is hearable by nearby players. I think it would fit fine, so the audio wouldnt have to be made.
