I've always wondered what the majority of PR players do on maps. How they decide to play them. Well i'm going to ask that now.

Do you go for Blitzkrieg type approch were you try and overwhelm your enemy in force and quickness?

Or do you make a secure line of defense before advancing into enemy territory?

Or is there any other tactics you use?

Logic dictates that since both teams are equal that you must gather the whole force and attack hard at their weakest spot, tring to slowly advance would be futile since the enemy has the same number as you have, succes is in speed and focusing on one point.

i usually dont squad lead on maps other than insergency on insergent side. But when I do, i usually just try and over whelm them. But i am not a very good sl :/ and i usually fail by me being the only one that makes it through the atack and the rest of my sq is dead. lol

I usually try playing one step ahead. That is, when my team is capping a flag, i get my squad set up on rooftops/ditches around the next flag.

When this works, you can sometimes catch the whole enemy team off balance. This tactic can backfire though if your team can't cap the previous flag.

I love ambushing...

I remember an epic ambush on Qwai. We noticed an enemy US squad approaching our right flank while we were defending the north bridge. Instead of engaging them right away (which would make any Counterstrike/Call of Duty player cry) we decided to hide in the bushes. Our whole squad picked a different target and we let them walk towards the bridge. When they came out of the the grass area and onto the road my squadleader yelled: FIRE !!!!
Everyone emptied their magazines like crazy and the US-guys didn't had a clue what happened

Speed, stealth, and intense violence win most small unit engagements

I like to be ready with FOBs before diving in on the attack...AA's on heli maps, so defensive.

As and when I squad lead I prefer stealth tactics, taking time but being quick when necessary to flank the enemy undetected and strike them/their assets/our objective from behind.

It's all about points, not kills.

All depends on what your squad is doing/what you have been assigned to do/what the rest of your team is doing.

When pubbing its either moving past the enemies lines and securing the next flag for capping, or holding the flag our team just capped as in general when pubbing, squads just move from a-b, people are reluctant to defend the flag they just capped unless its being attack.

I find that the best tactic I use with my mates to be, get defensive position on your spot, stay still to get better aim, and let enemy know we are there, when they come and try to position themselves in line of fire to shoot us, we take them down like target practice.

That and our super fast hobbit medic!

i prefer Stealth Tactics like moving through the city's heart unoticed with my 4 man Spec Ops squad. but usually im not a Squad Leader.

As SL I like to setup FBs/hideouts so my team can spawn. By giving your team spawns in the right areas, you can really help move squads towards the meaningful objectives, rather than just running all around the map like fools.

For squad engagements, flanking attacks with adequate suppression.

Jungle / Forest. I prefer advancing slow and laying ambushes in the trees.

On forest maps, probe a hostile position and quickly run away in tree cover, then re-engage on their flank as the enemy advances to see what's going on. Speed and Stealth is key.

Heres a Littlebird stratedgy ive used many times since i posted this about 3 months ago


Heres a stradegy that worked for me last night on ramiel for a total of 1 hour 35 minute flight time. With 18 kills 0 deaths. Just patroling the desert and taking out enemy vehicles.

This strat only works if your comp has maxed out graphics and view distance. Because ramiel has no fog/blurry vision at long distances. It is possible to identify targets from far away.

Start the round, hop in LB , take off to 300 altitude. Now the city of ramiel is surrounded by a desert. It is easy to identify targets in. In particular enemy cars/jeeps/bikes. It is also easy to see enemy insurgents mining the bridges that lead to US main.

When you are up at 300 altitude and you find a target. You should imdeiatly check the area around target for incoming technicals before you begin your assault dive on target.

Your atack dive on target should be a 90 degree angle. Espicially on technicals because they wont be able to see you. Dive on your target and let your mini guns tear them to shreds. When mission is complete RTB to main for ammo, rinse & repeat.

For an hour and 30 minutes i patroled the desert around the city of ramiel and got 18 kills , which included 6 technicals, 2 bombcars , and 6 insurgents planting mines/ieds on the bridges leading to main.

Kolezek is a good example. I burst between cover and jog when in cover. As I operate in small groups I find its ridiculously easy to sneak up on hostile squads. 90% of people are always looking towards the nearest flag and never consider flanks.

Most of the time in AAS, players go for blitzkrieg (always, ALWAYS a truck rushing to build a fob with no support whatsoever or apc/tanks rushing to a flag).

I don't know why though because all the squads are scattered due to the which-one-will-be-the-fastest-fact lol.

I'll choose the second one by having at least one squad defending a flag or a key position (which is no the case in non-beta servers ).
My clan squad is always defending because noone wants to do that and I must say that often, we have like 2-3 enemy squads on us and it is a blood bath but very fun.

All my tactics are for insurgency but:

-Speed and stealth are all good, but are also almost always mutually exclusive. Either you're slow and stealthy or fast and everyone knows where you are.

-Shoot and move. Never stay still.

My favorite tactic is the American tactic for moving into a cache location. I'd like to do this with squads but haven't gotten cooperation from other squad leaders. One squad with long distance weapons (AR, Marksman, Grenadier, medic, and scoped rifleman) hunkers down about 200-300 meters from the objective with a clear line of sight to the enemy. The second squad is close combat kits (AR, Red dot riflemen, medic, Specialist, etc). Second squad lays behind the first squad and moves in on the cache after the first squad starts firing. The AR and Marksman should scare the shit out of the insurgents, plus scoped rifleman will add to the "oh shit" factor, keeping their heads under cover. Second squad moves in. If second squad takes fire they meerly redirect the fire of the first squad. Voila! Second squad, using cover and supression, are able to get to the cache and engage the enemy in close combat.

I've tried this before with just my squad with an AR, Marskman, and Medic as supression and SL, rifleman, and specialist as assault. It worked very well but it would work better with two seperate squads so both teams can have a medic. Ciao.

Yep I attempted to do that with my squad (which I named the "Scopes & Sights" tactic), where 3 guys give support while the 3 other move in.

I sure wanna try that with 2 squads. Which servers you play on?
