Marksmanrifle better than the LMG ? The LMG can kill on the move and exposed enemies very quickly, however over distance and when the enemies have cover, the lmg will shoot all round their head, while you can kill in one shot with the marksmanrifle.

The marksmanrifle does even pretty good in cqb, if you can center your enemy The deviation will still be low enough to hit with 2 quick shots.

When I pick it, I have oftentimes more kills than the lmg, because enemies can just get away after taking 1-2 rounds, or because the lmg did not hit the few pixels of the head that were exposed. It deals better with the enemy lightmachinegun too. What I observed is, if both have cover, they surpress each other, unless one of them gets lucky and hits the exposed pixels. However a marksman who has good cover can take out an lmg much faster than it him.

That you do not have everybody in the enemy squad shooting at you helps too.

personally, i disagree. I can accurately and quickly kill with the LMG's on all maps with a view distance less that 600m~ which is most maps. coupled with the fact the LMG's are best guns on the game under 50m.

Dont understand why people hating marksman and 85% of SL's always say no sniper>ok but why not marksman? if u know what ur doing and on the wright map, u will be an asset to any squad.
Muttrah...maybe LMG?....for me i always take marksman on Jabal nothing beats being on east side of the bridge playing US on the south mountain(cant remeber grid) popping MEC off as they spawn/build FB on the west side (always happens ) whilst ur sqd and co cross the bridge etcetc. Just one example

It does depend on a map..god i even played marksman on Ghost train....but i dont recomend it.


p.s since LMG got its scope not fun for me any more..too simple no skill required.

people hate it because guys take it because its a mini sniper basicly and often don't ask before taking it, often i find myself having to say why did you bring the DM kit into CQC when it long range and when its long range often it does nothing to help the team, they just stay away from the squad like a sniper shoot some guys and hop for the best while the rest of the squad clear buildings and take the full brunt of the attack
kills don't matter flags and FOB's do this is what people can't seem to grasp

agree with killonsight, i dont allow marksman in my squad for that reason. most people treat it as a mini sniper and go masturbate with it on some hill somewhere and i need to kick them.

"ill go cover you on this hill..."
"ill just go over to this hill over there and cover you"

next thing i know, they are 500m attacking the next flag..... KICK !

people are always saying LMG is overpowered maybe the marksmen is if you can get more kills than the main firepower in the squad

at the current state the only better thing in marksman rifle- lack of tracers, even though you still can figure out position by the sound, but its harder/takes longer than to spot, than red line from LMG to your position
other than that its almost useless tbh

Well, it depends which battle your in but personally, i prefer the LMG.

I get more kills(omg1337) with the AR but I enjoy using the marksman more....at least it takes some skill to hit a moving target 600M away.

@gazz and kill, thats narrow minded thinking, as stated ''if u know what ur doing and on the wright map it can be an asset'' far off being a mini sniper, snipers roll is to STAY in a certain place and pop people of 1by1 therefore ur no use to ur sqd and they DO take full brunt of the attack. Marksman job is to MOVE with sqd and provide efficient accurate long/short fire(again all depends on the map).

Correct me if iam wrong but in a real army squad havent they always got a marksman?

marksman is not a mini sniper there is a difference its like saying rifleman is quarter-sniper??just because its got a scope.

When i want to be a marksman i always ask my SL, iam not stupid and ask/take it on a map that will make a me a liability to my squad. Marksman is there for a reason if u cant use it than dont use it, if u cant fly dont fly..simple...!

As I rule I say no marksman simply because of the asshats who grab sniper right off the bat. If someone is in my squad with Marksman, sniper, or God forbid anything crazier like HAT or Engineer kit (I usually play insurgency) it's an auto kick from my squad. Not saying a marksman kit isn't useful, I'm saying it's rarely used properly.

LMG is probably going to have a major nerf in 0.9.

Only you. lol, the LMG is Accurate, automatic, and the best CQC gun ever. The marksman rifle is also horribly innaccurate in any stance except for prone. I can't trust it to hit anything and thats not acceptable... just a few reasons. I rather try out a marksmen rifle and get better with it though instead of using any other LMG except the SAW, however. The rest are much worse TBH, because of increased recoil and little difference in damage(with factors like recoil and accuracy brought into the equation.) They will probably be better with a scope, however.

no, its just experience. i am fully aware of how a marksman should be implemented within a squad. but with experience, others do not. hence my no marksman rule as it 99% of the time ends in kicking so i skip the middle man and ask people not to use it.

I can kill with both guns efficiently and I dont agree that the MM is insta win at long range, if the LMG user knows what he's doing, he can destroy MM at range.

Lets say they see each other simultaneously and have both guns deviation settled, both have an understanding of their guns bullet drop @ said range; if they both fire at the same time, most likely both will die accuracy permitting, now lets say they both missed their first shots, MM will die. Lets say they both missed the first shot, LMG also missed 3rd and 4th shot, LMG still wins.

LMG puts down lead accurately even at range with the addition of extra lead (higher rate of fire) is basically what im saying... just use burst fire 3-5 rounds, 1sec, maybe .5sec between shots.

generally speaking though, Snipers/MM ez kills should be other guys sitting in one spot for long periods of time, ie other snipers or some LMGs

LMG is a pawn weapon now, no skill required the way people talk about its kill rate makes me think are they playing the wright game?

LMG vs Marksman....depends who is using the weapons btw dont forget u only get accurate fire from LMG in prone, and on crouch/stand 150m or more ur good as done. If u can use MM u will have no problem in crouch mode taking out a LMG at 400m+ runnig...and not givin him the satisfaction of wasting all his bullets.
