Ok i finished my Certificate so now i have a lot of free time, so i thought id bring up some things that annoying me.

This is annoying me how little the dug out protects the user. so i thought id do a very crude drawing in red in green how to improve it slightly. Iv numbered key features in this new design.

Please not that, I have opted more effort in the design rather then the presentation so don’t laugh J

1: The torso and lower body are the most targeted sections on the body and their for is a priority in the defence.

2. You probably noticed the vee section in the design, it is designed to protect the user head torso and arms as much as possible with out impeding the rotation of the machine gun. it does leave the arms exposed but that is unavoidable. I can not protect the very centre where the 50 is placed because that will obstruct the gun, I am hoping how ever that the 50cal it self will protect the user by defecting bullets that hit it away. The vee section also will have a slight benefit of protecting the user from bullets coming in from a 35 degree angle making the machine gun more difficult to flank.

3. This is a hypothetical improvement that might be more a hindrance then a help, and that is the shrink the diameter of the opening by using more sand bags. the idea is that it will provide more protection from fire coming from above.

4-5, are designed to protect from fire going from very extreme angle, but these are hypothetical and most likely will be more a hindrance to the user and will most likely make a blind spot.

All and all the design is focused on protecting as much of the body as possible will no determent to the visibility for the gunner, What im trying to aim for is to leave exposed only a very tiny section to enemy fire,

I'm all for increased protection. Right now the dugouts make you a sitting duck for anyone with an optic.

What i think should be done is similar, the lower half protected by a low sandbag wall, will a V (facign outwards) cut into it for the gun. This would provide protection and let the gun move left and right :)

Honestly, I want the HMGs **NOT** in the dugouts, open, and able to turn 360 degrees. They're too.. limited of a field of fire right now.

Maybe in an AA-Like Foxhole, with the ability to hit CTRL to crouch behind the sandbags? Otherwise open and up high, freestanding.

What about changing the .50 for a M249 and use it prone inside the dugouts. or get crouch if you are in the top of a hill.

All I want is for the .50's to be able to depress more than 5 degrees.

Why not just put a crows system on top of an armored box. I like the dugouts the way they are now. If you watch videos of real machine gunners they'll get off the gun and hide when they are being fired upon. IMO It's not supposed to protect you from whats in front of you, just the areas where you cannot return fire.
